“It was a time share not a hotel”

This "Hotel" was a timeshare. The room was old, worn with lots of dents and dings, scrapes and poorly applied patches. When my wife asked the front desk attendant about housekeeping and fresh towels, he said that there is no housekeeping and there is a washing machine for you to launder your own towels. . .detergent was only $1.50. To avoid a penalty fee we had to take our trash to the dumpster. Entry foyer to room had a nursing home order lingering. The bed was very unconfortable. If I wanted to stay in a do-it-yourself room I would not have selected a "hotel." It was do-it-youself quality for regular "hotel" prices. It was unreasonalbe to advertise this as a hotel. There was not enough hot water for me, my wife, and two kids to take sequentail showers. We never did find the vaccuum cleaner to clean the carpets before we left. We wanted to check out at 7:30 am but there was no one available at the front dest to check out with nor to ask were the vaccuum was stored. I hope I don't get stuck with a "you didn't vaccuum the room before leaving" charge. If you like timeshare vacationing, this is th place for you; if you like hotels, look elsewhere.

“All the lights are burned out and service is terrible”

I arrived after 9pm. There were poor signs directing one to registration which after driving around and around I found was closed. I finally did arrive at the door to registration which was closed with no clear signage. I called the number I had for the resort. It required numerous calls to get into the resort gate, to find registration, and finally to be given direction to open a wall safe and pick up an envelope with "instructions" where to go and how to get in. The envelope had the wrong room number on it. I fell down some stairs that were not lit, almost all the lighting on the stairs and on the entry areas to the rooms were burnt out. Even the room numbers on the buildings were burnt out. The bright spot was after my fall, (thought I broke a knee and no one to help) the less than helpful Michelle who answered the phone and had been less than service oriented through out this entire fiasco transferred me without explaining why to a maintenance man. He was incredible. Helped me find the right room which the key fit even though the envelope label didn't, and appologized for all the problems. I won't be going back to North Bay. I never review rooms or hotels, this was such a bad experience, it was worthy of mention.

“frankly the worst hotel I've stayed at!”

Im a 42 year old married father of two young daughters (2 and 4 years in age). Upon arriving at the resort we were impressed by the security gates and long drive up to the main entrance. The help at the front desk was wonderful. When we found our way to our room i noticed several teenagers hanging around the general area. I went back to the front desk and promptly asked to be moved to a different room as I sensed there was going to be a noisy evening where we were located. After several minutes they front desk denied our request. It had been a long day so we had decided to retire for the evening in our room. The room itself was clean. This particular resort has a floor plan that can be hard to describe. Needless to say we were in a condo like location with one main entrance for every two suites. From the moment we arrived I knew we were in for a noisy evening. Our neighbors turned out to be young teenagers throwing a party of some sort above us. Dont get me wrong, I love a good party, as long as its not in the room above me while my two young daughters try to sleep. It took several calls to some offsite service (BECAUSE THERE WAS NO STAFF AT THE FRONT DESK THAT EVENING) to finally get through to the manager. It wasnt until off duty help arrived that they believed our story. We packed and left the location only to drive home that evening. This resort is no where to spend a quiet evening with your family.. Dont do it............

“Nice Arrowhead Condo!”

Cute little condo. It had eveything we needed, including kitchen supplies, a toggle switch fireplace, and a large patio. Great indoor pool for the kids and a jacuzzi for 14 and up.

Area recommendations
Arrowhead Village. Nice shops and eateries.
When to go
Easy drive in March, but still great skiing.

“Nice place to get away quickly”

Nice place to get away, during Winter and even in Summer. You definitely have to have a GPS because it's little tricky to find it, esp. at night. (We were using 2 GPS's and still got lost because there were so many quick turns that they couldn't keep up.) The room was roomier than expected and comfortably furnished.

Getting there
GPS-Must!
Outdoors or beach
Close to the slope and fishing in the Summer.

“Very nice!”

We were very surprised with the accommodations, especially for the price. The tennis courts, basketball, table tennis and indoor pool were fantastic, We borrowed games and rented a movie and had a great time. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We will definitely go back again.
