“nice place”

good location with easy access to big bear village. the manager, fendi was very helpful as was the cleaning staff. i stayed in cabin #9 with 2 rooms and a full kitchen overall the cabin was ok, with a new bathroom stall this cabin would be great.

“nice cabin/lodge”

My only complaint is our room is located close to the road, and we can't know in advance. Other than that, everything was quite enjoyable! The room is simple and woody, which is my cup of tea. The front desk is very friendly (although Sunday service hours is short). It's more like a self-service cabin type of lodge. The rate is unbeatable. Overall, I enjoyed the stay and would go back again!

“Perfect for what we wanted”

This place is a little on the rustic side but we were just looking for a comfortable place to stay with a small kitchen so we could cook some meals. It did the job. Everything was clean. The manager went out of his way to help us and even let us borrow movies and sleds for the kids. We would definitely go back.

“good bargain and comfortable”

i stayed in a single cabin with a king bed, fireplace, wall heater, microwave, fridge, expanded cable tv, floor fan, desk and chair. it was rustic but comfortable and a good value in the off-season. the owner was very nice and helpful. the pines in the evening smelled great.

BECAUSE IT WAS NOT A HOTEL IT WAS A CABIN IT DID NOT HAVE ALL THE LUXURY. BUT ALL MY FAMILY LOVED IT. VERY FRIENDLY OWNER. VERY SATISFACTORY CUSTOMER SERVICE. VERY NICE AREA. PERFECT FOR A FAMILY GETAWAY

“Great price, not too bad of a place.”

Overall the stay was good. The room was a stand alone unit which was nice. Dog friendly for not much more. Location was a bit eastward of where I would have preffered to stay, but it was a nice hotel. Would recommend.

“Good Experience”

The cottage was old, but well-kept; small, but more than sufficient. The cottage had two rooms, one bath, living room, and a complete kitchen. I called for late arrival and they turned on the heater for me so the room was warm when we arrived. When I entered the office to check out, the manager greeted me by name. Overall good experience and comfortable accommodations.

“Good deal”

Our overall rating is based on the ration between the price and what you get for it. We stayed in one of the upstairs rooms of a 4-room cabin. There's a fireplace (you pay for the wood), a small kitchen and a separate (small) bedroom with bathroom. Everything was clean and the manager double-checked that everything was okay when we checked in. The entire compound (rooms and outdoors) show their age and they are certainly "rustic". There's no direct access to the lake but the swimming pool was nice.

“An Enjoyable Stayover”

We arrived late but found all as arranged. Only stayed 1 night but the room was neat and clean. I had expected a sofa bed for my child but it only seemed to be a sofa. Staff were friendly. I would go again.

“Rustic charm, short drive to village”

Definitely the place to go if you like trees, quiet, and easy access to places of interest around the lake. Hotel chain conviences do not exist here, ie: ice machine, snack machine, 24 hour desk. Office normally closes at 5pm. All that was OK with me. Bed was a little hard, but that's part of the "rustic" I guess.
