“Black List Hotels”

The hotel meets the standards of a cheap motel and I wasted $400.00 on poor quality.

“No Heat, Shower, Telephones, Managers, Pool or Jacuzzi!!”

My wife and I arrived at the Thundercloud hotel around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday October 15. This was a birthday gift for my wife. We went into the lobby and the attendant Riccardo gave us a key and had us sign the paper receipt. We went to the room and since we were tired we took a nap. When we awoke about 6 p.m. I noticed there was no remote for the T.V. so I went to Riccardo and he lent me one. On the way I noticed the swimming pool had been filled in with dirt and the jacuzzi had a tree growing in it. In the ad it showed the resort with a functioning pool and jacuzzi. We then went out into the town which is within walking distance so that was nice. We returned about 10:30 p.m. and my wife tried to take a shower. Water only trickled out of the shower-head. No hot water at that. then as we tried to sleep we noticed the ceiling fan was left running in the unoccupied room below us. It was really loud and we could not get to sleep. We then tried to call the hotel on the phone in the room, but it was dead. Next we tried to turn on the heat and both the in room fireplace and in room heater would not turn on. I then went to the office and the door was locked and lights were all out. The after hours phone was dead and we called Riccardo's cell and it just went to voice mail. In the morning we went to breakfast at 8:15 a.m. to find they were out of juice and cream for the coffee, just a few danish. 11 a.m. checkout the door to the lobby was again locked. A nightmare!

“Worst Hotel”

This lodge is practically closed and should be. Half is fenced off and closed. Pool is filled. Lodge is terribly rundown. We were the only occupants. 1. Curtains on windows hanging - 2. No screens on windows - windows could be pushed out or in. 3. No ice machines - told to go to a convenience store. 4. Phone in room shut off. 5. Furniture worn out. Dark stairway at night - brick walks crumbling or falling. Very spooky with no occupants of workers seen around. Front desk closed and dark by 9pm. Should definitely not represent Expedia. We left for home at 9PM. 10yr old grandaughter was scared to stay and we were too.

“What a Dump!”

What a dump! The door didn't close properly. The window had no latch to lock it. The threadbare carpet had stains that looked like they had been there for quite a while. The shower was digital: either hot or cold but no temperature in the middle. The bathroom had water stains at the base of the fixtures. Paint pealed from the walls. It would have been better to sleep in my car.

“ThunderGhost Motel”

All information on Expedia about this motel is completely wrong and inaccurate. No Pools, No free continental breakfast, No front desk employee, No service person, No person to help you at all period!! I just booked a room at Thundercloud (aka thunderghost motel) over the weekend on June 18, 2011 fathers day. I came in approx 1:00pm Saturday and the front desk/office was closed. They had a note on the door saying to call Jose. So I called and Jose answered. He said nobody works at the office and he would have to meet me later (3:30pm) so I can get a key to my room. I was about to just cancel it altogether but my friends said they are fine coming back. So I came back at 3:30pm and met Jose. He gave me some keys to one of the rooms and said when i check out the next day to drop the keys in the box near the front office. I went to my room and surprised it was actually what I ordered a 2 bed queen room. Everything seemed to work okay. The bed near the bathroom smelled like urine though....They did have some clean towels their and hot running water. Their was only 1 other car in entire parking lot during my stay! It felt like staying at an abandoned motel! I could hear ghosts in the next rooms! Next room had a open window making a clattering noise all night. No one staying next door so i assume it was the wind.

“Thundercloud Lodge”

While the Thundercloud is NOT a 5-star resort by any means, you get what you pay for. I wanted a shower and a bed (after running the recent Tough Mudder race), and you can't beat Thundercloud for the price. The owner went above and beyond the call-of-duty to make sure we were happy - agreeing to change our room a couple of times to make sure we were happy, and even comping us an extra night! Yes, the paint was a chipping and the walls & floors had some bumps in them...but who cares? If you are anuppity type of person who wants luxury, then this is not the place for you. If you are just looking for a reasonably priced place to crash, you can't beat the Thundercloud!

“Not Impressed”

I must say, that for the money, I was not impressed. There were stains on the carpet, the advertised pool, jacuzzi and sauna were non-existent. I definitely would not go back there.
