Trip

Posted May 31, 2015
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Rescue for animals. Of course, Yellowstone National Park.
After a long drive, we found that the hotel staff was very friendly upon arrival and checkout. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff provided us with directions as to places we wanted to go in West Yellowstone. The restaurant staff were wonderful and accommodating. The gift shop gentleman was very nice and helped with making sure our purchase would not break while traveling.

All but the Branch.

Posted May 31, 2015
Pros: The front desk and hotel staff except for the Branch and the gift shop. The room, the pool & hot tub, the location.
Cons: The food quality and the attitude of the servers as well as the barmaid. Every place we stay the bar staff has been our friend until now.
Location: I liked that the location was away from most of the shopping hubbub and quiet for sleeping-----yet I could walk around the corner and do it all.
The front desk (especially Jennifer) was wonderful. The young man who came to help w/ the laundry facilities and went to get me a chair to sit on for the wait time was so dedicated. The gentleman who brought the towels for the pool was friendly and polite and helpful. BUT the bar maid in the Branch was very curt, not friendly, and was all about helping some other folks at the bar w/ what sports to set the TV on rather than what drink we would like. We then moved to a table to order food. The waitress seemed reluctant to wait on us and our table was rocky so we moved to a booth and again she passed us by several times before taking our order. The menu is very yuppy (or whatever the modern term is) and VERY high priced (as was all of West Yellowstone) and we did not return there again during our 3 day visit. I tried to buy something in the gift shop ----- it was 8:00 and it was supposed to be open till 9:00----and the sales person started turning out lights while I was looking! I said I'd come back in the morning and when I did that it was closed! If the Branch & gift shop are waiting to serve the summer vacation crowd or doesn't have time for seniors they should just say so-----we are happy to spend our hard earned money elsewhere. The pool was WONDERFUL as well as the hot tub. It has so much to offer but the Branch is not one of them.

Spring Visit

Posted May 16, 2015
Pros: Clean room.
Cons: a FREE continental breakfast
Location: The Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center was nice as was Yellowstone National Park
I picked this motel, even though it was one of the most expensive, because it had a restaurant. However the restaurant was really expensive and there was no Continental breakfast (The breakfast bar was over $13). As it turns out, everything is real expensive in West Yellowstone. Thank goodness for Ernies Deli & Bakery. Very good food for a reasonable price. The motel was nice... clean.. and staff was friendly. Having to do it all again I would probably pick a different motel to stay in.

Perfect

This hotel had everything we needed and the staff was very nice. We preferred the Branch restaurant within the hotel over the other restaurants in West Yelliwstone. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Standard hotel nothing fancy in the center of town

Posted Apr 25, 2015
Pros: Large comfortable room. Nice large shower stall.
Cons: Fix the ice machines! The outside door that should have required to use your room card to access was not locked. Anyone could just enter there.
The room was clean and nice but nothing special. The person who checked us in was the least friendly of any that we dealt with but was okay. Worse part was all their ice machines were down! The one on the 3rd floor where our room was located had an "out of order" sign on it for the three nights we were there. One time we were able to get ice from a machine on another floor but after that they were not working either. I did not say anything to anyone until asked about my stay when checking out. The clerk apologized and said they would comp the charge for the previous day's breakfast. I have not reviewed my credit card yet to see if that was done.
