Great West Yellowstone Feel

Posted Nov 10, 2014
We spent the night with our children. Our two and four-year-olds were very impressed with the taxidermy. Several bears, mountain goats, big horn sheep and a wolf. The room was decorated to match.

A bit tired.

Posted Nov 10, 2014
Pros: The continental breakfast was excellent.
Cons: The decor of the rooms needs to be updated,
Location: Great location for access to W/Yellowstone entrance. A supermarket and gas station right across the street. Walkable distance to several restaurants
These rooms are very old. The floor in our room on the 2nd floor was crooked and the room had an unpleasant odor.

Great place, comfy beds, friendly staff

Posted Nov 7, 2014
We checked in here after a long day spent driving all over Yellowstone. The staff was very friendly and recommended a great pizza place, Wild West Pizzeria. (They may have the best pizza we've ever eaten.) Our beds were very comfortable. The hotel is older, but we found it charming and spacious. They have several books and games for kids to play in their large lobby. We would definitely stay here again. After dinner I realized that I couldn't find my camera, which had all of our Yellowstone pictures, including shots of the grizzly bear we saw in the park. We were very relieved when I checked at the front desk of the hotel and found that they had it there. Whew! The hotel is only a few blocks from the Grizzly Discovery Center, which is worth the time to see. Tickets are good for two days.

Hotel close to Yellowstone

Posted Nov 4, 2014
Pros: It's very close to the entrance to Yellowstone. It has a nice rustic feel to it.
Cons: Not much can be improved that hasn't been improved on already.
Location: Slippery Otter for dinner - awesome burgers. Running Bear Pancake house for brunch; absolutely excellent! Recommend both places!
It's very close to Yellowstone National Park entrance. We were there last week (Oct) and with all the detours in effect it allowed us to hit the attractions on the west side of the park without driving back to Jackson. This hotel is within walking distance of all restaurants and attractions in the tourist town of West Yellowstone. The hotel staff was very nice and courteous. The room we had was very small but comfortable for a short stay (one night) it was perfectly fine.

Off Season at Yellowstone

Posted Oct 31, 2014
Pros: It is close to attractions and park.
Cons: I think they have done all they could to update without losing old hotel charm
Location: It's very close to Yellowstone National Park and an hour or so from the north entrance to Grand Teton National Park
We had a day in late October to visit Yellowstone National Park before flying back to Ohio. This hotel is within walking distance of all restaurants and attractions in the tourist town of West Yellowstone but most of them close for the season at the end of September. It is a few blocks from the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park. The hotel staff was very knowledgeable about the park including road closures, major attractions etc.Our room was small but comfortable and clean. Continental breakfast area was big and food was limited but good. It was a nice, charming, comfortable, older hotel.. .
