Nice place to spend a few days

Posted Mar 30, 2015 on Hotels
My kids and I were on a road trip and spent two days here while visiting Big Spring. The room was in great condition and very clean. The pool area was also very clean and it was a heated pool. It was a very relaxing place to go "home" to in the evenings. Breakfast was great with a nice selection for four picky children. Would definitely use this hotel again in the future.

Nice hotel, close to everything needed.

Pros: Desk staff and housekeeping were very nice and helpful.
Cons: If you advertise a breakfast buffet with eggs, sausage, bacon, gravy, hash browns and biscuits, have it out there for the buffet. This never happened.
Location: Good location for us.
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean. The mattress should have been replaced a while back. Don't pay extra for the breakfast buffet, it sounds great but doesn't have most of what they advertise. I guess if you got there at 6:00 am it would be fine. We were there at 8:00 am and there were no eggs, sausage or bacon. There were plenty of refried beans and potatoes but no tortillas. There was sausage gravy, but no biscuits. When we ask the lady if she was going to do any more eggs, she muttered something in Spanish and something about 7:30. Nice place, just don't get excited about breakfast.

Average Hotel.

I reserved a non smoking room but was given a smoking room. I even showed the front desk my reservation, however, according to the front desk there were no other rooms available. Had everything in the area not been booked I would have changed hotels. All in all the hotel isn't bad. It's clean and the breakfast is decent. I just didn't like my experience.

Big Spring Business Trip

Posted Sep 25, 2014
Pros: That it was clean and the rooms were big and layout for a business person.
Cons: I would include a bottle of water in each room.
Location: There is a park and two museums to visit, but not much else.
The hotel is close by I-20 so it is easy to get to. The hotel is clean and the personnel are willing to go out of their way to make you hotel stay as great as possible. If you need any soap, shampoo or even a better iron they will provide the items needed with a smile. If I find myself near Big Spring again, I would definitely stay there.

Stay

We stayed one night and I have decided we will use Best Western anytime we are there. We have booked a room in Wyoming again as well (we stayed at BW last year in Wyoming) and I love this place.

Staff needs additional training in customer service or proper training in obtaining these skills. Keys/ cards to rooms & to any doors had to be reset at the front desk every time before they would work properly. This was a huge inconvenience. And then my debit card was overcharged both times I stayed there. Super huge inconvenience!

It's an ok stay. Better hotels close by.

Pros: location.
Cons: breakfast and staff.
Internet was down for HOURS. Had to wait a couple of times for staff assistance (young girls chatting). Room did not have a comforter?? Did not mind it was a hot day but service felt incomplete. Cleanliness was good. Comfy bed. Breakfast was non existent by 8 am even though breakfast is supposed to be served until 9 am. In other words nothing majorly wrong but I have had better stays at the Holiday Inn and La Quinta nearby. I would try the other two first.

I booked the room through Expedia, and was given the total price. When we checked out, the total was higher. When I asked for adjustment, I was told she - front desk help - couldn't override the system. I ask to speak to the manager, and was told she wasn't available. I stated that I was being charged a different price than what was on my reservation. I showed the documentation from my reservation and only then was I given a discount, after being told they couldn't override the system.
