Located within a block or two of the river between the Guggenheim and Old Town. Also close to shopping. Staff is very helpful when asking about things to see. Nice comfortable bar.

Very friendly small hotel central for Guggenheim and the Station / main shopping street with El Cortez Inglis & to the old quarter. Extremely courteous staff - only consideration is that breakfast in hotel is expensive - but that is true of most hotels anyway. Would stay there again

“Where to stay when in Bilbao...”

I visited Bilbao to go to Guggenheim and this hotel is conveniently located, quiet, and new. The staff is attentive and friendly. The lounge/restaurant is nice as well. The price was also very good for booking the week before my travels. If I'm back in Bilbao I will stay again.

On arriving at the hotel, the red-coated porter deftly help us out by opening the door through the grand entrance. The quick identity check to let us in was carried out politely and unobtrusively. Inside the reception area/lobby, you'll be greeted by an ornate area with chandeliers, marble, antique furniture and a nice bloke to carry your bags up. If you arrive in the evening after a long uncomfortable flight, you may like to take advantage of the champagne bar or treat yourself to a refreshment. All the well-known brands are here. If Ale is your tipple, you may be disappointed, but this is Spain, not rural Dorset. It's got nice sofas to relax on and you wont be chased away for reading a book. The bar staff are friendly. The room itself had a nice en-suite, well lit, hair dryer, and room service if you needed. The bed was comfortable and the TV, a TV. The decor was well thought about by some interior designer or another and felt cosy. The only downside is the warmth of the room for a cooler climate. There is air-con, which is very quite, but I left the bedroom door open to circulate the air a bit more. This made the temperature okay. The advice we gained from the receptionists was awesome. Restaurants, tapas bars, areas to see and historical knowledge all made our break a little special. If you have a choice I'd recommend the Hotel Ercilla Lopez de Haro! Brilliant.

“This is a great independent hotel”

The decor is fantastic. The staff was very helpful and attentive. A short walk to the Guggengheim from a quiet street. I will definitely recommend this hotel to anybody considering visiting the city. The price was also very good for the quality received, specially compared to anyother American chain. Would definitely return.

“Great location and amazing staff!”

Always ask for a remodeled rom! I checked into this hotel the 1st night and the room was very worn and tired, not worth half the price I paid. I came back to this hotel (second chance) for a second night and asked to be placed in a remodeled room that was shown in the photos in the website, and they granted me one. This room was much better. The hotel reception has only 2 floors of the 5 that have remodeled rooms. These are the rooms on the website. Unless you ask, you will not get an upgraded roomand it is definitely not worth the price. The staff was amazing! The dinner Menu del Dia was wonderful! I walked just a few mintes to the Guggeneheim and the Museo Bella Artes. Right off Grand Via and 2.5 blocks from the Metro stop Moyoa.
