A very good place to stay in BilbaoPosted Jun 2, 2013
Pros: The size and price of the room. The good Restaurant and service.
Cons: The lighting levels in the room. Slow wi-fi
Location: A good, central location. Easy walking distance to all major areas of interest.
We stayed for three nights from May 28th 13 and were very comfortable throughout our time at the hotel. It is centrally situated and about a 15 minute walk to the Guggenheim and the Belles Art Museum by the river. The 'comfort room' we booked was spacious, with a desk area, plenty of wardrobe space and a good bathroom with two wash-basins/bath and shower. Our twin beds were very comfortable with duvets and a choice of pillows. Food in the Cafeteria was pleasant and we ate there late in the afternoons (snacks and coffee mostly). Breakfast was substantial and well presented. Good coffee. The Restaurant had two menus 19/24 euros. This was for three courses and a bottle of wine between the two of us. The choices were good and we ate there all three nights and having been travelling in Spain we found the food was better value than many other restaurants in the north. The waiters, and one in particular Alberto, were well informed and helpful. Two things I would have liked - stronger lighting in the room and a better diagram of how to reach the Hotel as all the streets on the grid system are one way !! Parking was right under the hotel and reasonably priced. This is a hotel I would recommend to other travellers to Bilbao and where I would stay if I revisited the city.

Nice hotel, older style and very comfortable. Staff were excellent. Location was close to the main commercial district and transport.

Pros: comfortable clean room with balcony and plenty of wardrobe space
Cons: Check in welcome could be improved
Apart from an initial disinterested check in, the rest of the staff were helpful, the hotel was warm, comfortable, clean and relaxing. It is a ten to fifteen minute walk down to the Guggenheim and easy to walk to any of the key City sites. Concierge (thank you) was very helpful in finding out about winter timetable boat tours (much recommended, Bilbao Boats). Tip: it says free wifi - but that is only to use on websites - you need to pay to use email on wifi (quite common in hotels nowadays). Taxi ride to airport on a Sunday was only 15 minutes.

Confortable hotelPosted Feb 18, 2013
As a seasoned world travel, I would rate this amongst the best. Excellent breakfast bar, one of the best that I have come across. The view from the bedroom not inspiring but location good for getting around Bilbao. Hope to be staying there again soon

Superb weekend breakPosted Feb 13, 2013
Pros: Restaurant and breakfast buffet
Cons: Room was a little cool despite turning up heating.
Location: Excellent for accesss to attractions. Parking difficult for using a car. It worked best to leave it in the hotel car park.
Friendly, helpful and pet friendly. Everything under one roof -superb restaurant, cafe and bar. Breakfast buffet was the most comprehensive we have ever had!Remember to ask about hotel underground car parking as stopping places are limited. Ideal for walking to main attractions or take taxi or metro.

Ferry stopoverPosted Nov 3, 2012 on Hotels.com
The hotel was well located for the cirty centre and we had a large room with a very comfortable bed. We had booked the wrong day but they still booked us in the the extra day we needed. Staff were pleasant and friendly and their brasserie prices were very reasonable. Bilbao is a much more interesting city than we expected, especially the Googenheim museum and the river area. It has some lovely squares and avenues, but it is an expensive city, especially for restaurants.

Dim lights? Nope!Posted Oct 3, 2012
Pros: Free internet
Cons: Breakfast buffet
Insert your key into the switchplate at the door and get TONS more light in your room!! We didn't know this ahead of time and now wish we hadn't found out about it on our third day! Free internet and a very friendly and helpful front desk staff can't be beat - just wish the breakfast buffet had been better stocked on the morning we went.

A bit tired but good sized rooms and quite centralPosted Oct 1, 2012
Pros: Breakfast - excellent. We got a really good deal on this hotel with breakfast included.
Cons: Dated room and limited wifi service
Location: Good location, quite central and walking distance to the Guggenheim
Hotel is in a good location - walking distance to the Guggenheim. Public areas of hotel nice and an excellent buffet breakfast with huge choice of good quality food including lots of fresh fruit. Although the rooms and ensuite bathroom large, they are a bit dated, tired, bland and in need of a freshen up. Wifi seems to be limited to one mobile device per room! Car parking available - hotel won't let you book a space in advance but we managed to get a space no problem on a Saturday.
