“Not Impressed”

This hotel was a little hard to find, we couldn't find it from the GPS address & had to ask someone. It is totally hidden behind the Hampton Inn. A bigger, more obvious sign posted on Middlesex Tpke would help guide the guests to find it more easily, especially at night. The complementary internet service was slow, so slow that we gave up using it all together. The water from shower & faucet can't seem to wash off the soap. So your skin still feels slippery even after numerous rinsing. We still can't figure out what is in the water that costs this condition. The bathroom has no ventilation. The receptionist at the check in was not enthusiastic or friendly. We arrived at the hotel early but were told we could not check in early due to their full booking. The pool was very small and they only open at 5pm on weekdays. There were no towels at the pool. The gym was small as well. We did enjoy the breakfast buffet which were complementary. The food was replenished constantly & the employees there were helpful & kind. Overall we expected more from a Homewood Suites and were a bit disappointed by this stay.

Area recommendations

Quincy Market & Chinatown. The food was good in Chinatown. Quincy Market was close to the water & has a nice view of the water front.

“Nice hotel, would be 5.0 worthy with attentive,communicative maintenance/housekeeping”

I booked this hotel with the understanding I was staying at a hotel with a 4.5/5.0 average review. While the hotel was good, there were a few sore spots to point out (some of which other traveles mentioned). 1) The shower rod in room 409 was loose and fell out of wall. I twisted back in. I asked front desk on morning of 7/15 to have maintenance fix. 2) Came back to hotel in evening 7/15, problem not fixed. Front desk could not find record of request. New request submitted. 3) On 7/16, Same as #2, but had record of request. I was told "perhaps maintenace was too busy or didn't have proper tools. 4) On 7/17, saw maint. man by lobby. Told me he didn't want to mess up room by fixing problem and didn't know how long we would be out of room. Asked him to fix while I was at Cape Cod for day. 5) Came back on 7/17 to find loose shower rod, drywall dust on floor, and in bedroom, now comforter wadded up and in corner (have pics to prove.) Went to lobby and told him to write down exact problems I stated. I saw him write down room# and nothing else. Due to guy who was yelling at front desk clerk in room 115 (he got key to an occupied room?) 6) Went to see manager on 7/18, but he was on vacation. No record of my complaint by 7/17 clerk. Asked to be comped for problems, but told manager could do that. On brighter side, hotel is very clean, A/C works great, breakfast buffet great (eggs could have used more flavor), and front desk provided me with directions.

Area recommendations

City of Boston had a lot to do->Great history, architecture (take the Fenway Tour), and (despite preconceived notions of rudeness) people were really great to talk to. Lexington and Concord are great, too, lots of history. Bus tour is a great idea, but keep in mind if on bus near downtown at rush hour, you will be slowed down (we made this mistake & missed a few historical spots as a result). Cape Cod is quite a drive, but breathtaking. Well worth the time in the car.

“It was fine”

The hotel room was nice. The convenience of having a full kitchen is amazing for that price! The pool is a bit small, but fine. My only real complaints would be that the door in the room stick (had to lift the bathroom door to open/shut it, and the door between the bedroom and living room were nearly impossible to open). Also, the breakfast buffet was pretty awful. All of the cooked food (eggs, bacon, home fries) were fairly disgusting. The only edible foods were cereal and toast.

“Wow wish I could have stayed longer”

When I walked into the the hotel I was empressed; beautiful, clean, and super friendly staff. But when I got to the room I was completely speechless. The room was so clean and just absolutely beautiful. So big with lots of space llike a studio apartment. Loved it so much that I wanted to stay an extra night but they didn't have any vacancy.

“Can't wait to go back!!!!”

Recently my husband and I came to Boston for spring break and fell in love with this hotel. Not only was the staff helpful, but the hotel itself is charming and beautiful. When we first stepped into our room we couldn't believe how spacious the it was. We had an actual living room with a kitchenette which included a refrigerator, stovetop, dishwasher and sink. It really felt like our own little apartment. The rest of the room was just as gorgeous. And the view from our room was fantastic. Every morning when we went down to breakfast we were greeted with "Good Mornings" from the staff and the wonderful aroma from the buffet stations. The buffet was hot and included eggs, sausage or bacon depending on the day, toast, bagels, donuts, danishes, fruit, yogurt, coffee, juice and cereals. What a great way to start our day. The staff always made sure that all the food was refilled and remained hot. We would definitely stay a this hotel again when coming back to Boston. The "T" station was only about 15-20 minutes away from the hotel and it was great to not have to navigate the streets on Boston. Parking for the day only costs $9.00, you can't park anywhere in Boston that cheap. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that was coming to Boston for a visit. Best hotel we have stayed in so far!!!!

Area recommendations

I would recommend the city of Boston for sure. The Freedom Trail is great to see and walk and it gives you a great overview of the city as a whole. Our first night in the city we took a Boston Duck Tour. That was the best way to kick off our trip, we got a little sneak peek at all the city has to offer. Also take the Fenway Stadium tour if you an, lots of history in that stadium and they take you around the entire thing in about an hour. Of course you could always catch a game as well.

Must see

U.S.S Constitution and the Charlestown Naval Yard. Being the oldest commissioned warship is truly a sight to see. What beauty and history this historic landmark represents.

“Impressed customer”

everything was great. i was actually expecting a hole in the wall hotel, but ever since i arrived everything was up to a higher standard. my check in was quick and painless, the room was clean and well organized, i am a late sleeper so i didn't get to eat breakfast, whenever i had a question about the area they were very knowledgeable, an indoor pool, and best of all check out was also quick and easy. all in all they did an outstanding job! and although i will never go back to boston, i WILL go back to homewood suites!
