“Nice Hotel”

We enjoyed the stay here, but the hot tub wasn' t working and the exercise room was very small. Loved the grounds. Loved the peacocks walking around and the lake. The breakfast was fantastic and the staff was great!

“Never was a plantation”

The facade of the hotel was built to look like a plantation but it is actually a relatively new building.We felt this was misleading. The hotel was located in a residential neighborhood, not convenient to the Gulfport Beaches and downtown area. It was hard to find the hotel because it hidden back in a residential neighborhood. The hotel was clean and the breakfast was excellent. Our accomodations were comfortable and safe. However, the hotel itself reminded us of being in a nursing home facility, in fact, we wouldn't be surprised to find out that in it's earlier days it probably was. We never received our southern hospitality drink of rum punch upon arrival as promised online and in the guest services book. The pool was so cloudy you could not see the bottom and the jacuzzi was not available for use because it was broken.

Area recommendations
We enjoyed the beaches of Biloxi, Gulfport, Long Beach and Pass Christian. The white sands were pretty but beaches are generally not very clean of litter.

“LOVE IT!!! Will Stay Again!!!”

We really love to stay here!!! Rooms are cool...Quiet..The peacocks are unique...Restaurants are not very far...Not your cookie cutter hotel!!

“Charming, relaxing and we will be back!!!”

We loved everything about the Magnolia Planation, from the Rum Punch, the wonderful breakfast to the spectacular peacocks. This is the perfect place to go if you want to stay in a place that is not your tradional chain hotel. It has the comfort and the amenities of one, but much much more.

“Magnolia Plantation”

This is an excellent place to stay when visiting the MS Gulf Coast if you don't mind not being close to the beaches.

“Something different....”

Cool place off the beaten path..... Awesome peacocks... Real private feel.... Was not offered my Rum punch and the hot tub was broken. A sign that looked as if it had been up for a year said the hot tub was broken.... ha.. But,,,that being said I am staying here again next month. The peacocks were awesome and the view was cool... Glass walls in hall overlooking the pond and garden.. Breakfast was great although nobody cooked eggs to order just scrambled, but it was still awesome with great food and cinimon rolls.... Neato Place....

“Want to come back!”

A beautiful hotel in tranquil residental area,10 min from Gulfport airport. Picturesque veiws, ponds, gazebo, swimmong pool outside. Good breakfast.. Friendly staff. Beautiful place for special occasions like weddings.

“Great value and comfortable accommodation”

Room was very clean. Personnel were very cheery and helpful. The hotel had the feel of a bed and breakfast. Breakfast buffet was outstanding and staff were present and helpful.

“Loved Every Minute!”

Had a great time, beautiful place to stay, quiet, peaceful, super nice staff, great food, lovely landscaping..

Area recommendations
Loved the location of the Magnolia Plantation, easy access to Hwy 49, shopping, food, beach etc
Getting there
Super easy to get there. Turn off of Hwy 49 west onto ONeil Rd, then a left onto Old 49 to the flashing light/stop sign and turn right onto Robinson Road. Go down until you see the scalloped white picket fence on your left.
Getting around
You will need a car to go anywhere.
Must see
Pay attention to the medians. When Katrina destroyed some of the huge Live Oaks a artist has carved the tree trunks into beautiful sculptures all up and down Hwy 90. Really good work and worth stopping and taking photos of. Sunset and/or sunrise on the ocean.
Shopping
Outlet Mall. When you leave the Plantation you will want to go back to Hwy 49 and turn right/south and stay in your right lane. You will go under I10 and start looking for the huge Home Depot sign on your right. You will turn between the Shell Station and the Waffle House. The mall will be on your right. Go around to the back of the Mall to the Food Court and go inside to the Office and get a map of the stores.
Nightlife
Had a great time at the Hard Rock Cafe
Outdoors or beach
The beaches are beautiful. They are still working on some areas though. Be sure to splurge on one of the rental unbrella chairs, they are worth it. Also some pretty good fishing off the piers. If you are lucky on a windy day you will get to see the locals on their boards with their parachutes flying across the water and up into the air. The Shrimp Boat tour is nice too. You go out on the boat, see how they shrimp and you will get to see and hear all about what they catch in the nets.
