The hotel definitely needs some update. The carpet had visible dirty stains and had a musty smell. We stayed for 1 night to attend Binghamton's open house and we chose the hotel for its reasonable rate.

My room was great and I like this hotel, I just wish I knew the pool was closed. And I really thought the breakfast was not great because the coffee pot was usually empty and when it did come out, it was warm. It’s hard to have a continental breakfast without coffee. It was just toast and yogurt and a muffin and juice. We went out for breakfast.

The room they gave us was not cleaned (bed not made, etc). So they gave us another room ... and that room had a dirty bathtub, the phone cord was cut and the tv remote was missing batteries. They gave us new batteries and made a note about the phone cord being cut. The 'free breakfast' was just bagels, muffins, cereal, coffee and juice. Nothing warm (no eggs, or pancakes, etc.) Overall, it wasn't terrible, but a lot of questionable issues in there that I wasn't expecting and felt that the second room they put us in (which was cleaned) still wasn't cleaned too well. Just ok overall ... but would book a different hotel if visiting again. This was just a one night stay, so it was ok.

The reason I booked this particular property was because it had an indoor pool. Sadly the pool was down and because it was Easter weekend the maintenance staff was not working. They did upgrade my room for me and it was a very nice room. Staff was great. I will stay there again. In fact I have to go back to Binghamton and I already booked my room.

We liked the location and it was comfortable. However, the front desk staff was quite unprofessional. They were polite, but their appearance was unprofessional, one had a friend there and they were loud and unprofessional while we were playing cards in the lobby. The TV channels were impossible and frustrating to navigate. The ice machine did not work, and despite the website saying hot breakfast, there was hardly anything to eat. The coffee and OJ tasted awful and there was a very poor selection. Overall, i would rate it as below average and would not stay there again.

My booked room was screwed up. We needed to squeeze 5 people in a king size bed and couch bed. The included breakfast options were very very very limited.

Looked good on the website. Showed up checked in. Room was not what was booked, they didn’t even have a room like we booked. Room was dirty trash left in drawers. They allowed kids to be outside being loud all night. I would not recommend this hotel.

Just right for us!
We stayed at the University Inn while touring Binghampton University in the middle of snowy January. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful. The gym and pool were operating and well maintained and a quick breakfast with bagels, cereal, fruit and coffee was perfect for on the go. The rooms were clean and housekeeping was responsive to our requests. The location was great with only a 5 minute drive to the main campus.

This property is preparing to be changed over to another hotel chain. Unfortunately the toliet in our room would not flush. Staff immediately offered us a new room. Breakfast is only cereal and offerings of toast,bagels. Location is great and staff are very friendly.
