Visiting Birmingham
Posted Jan 23, 2013
Pros: Comfortable bed with crisp White linen
Cons: Stained carpet and chairs
Location: Close to Birmingham city centre
The hotel is convenient for visiting the city and is close to restaurants. The room was comfortable and the breakfast, although it was served in the adjoining hotel, was good with plenty of choice. unfortunately I have marked the hotel down slightly as there were some stains on the carpet and chair arms .

Far off from city centre & Queen Elizabeth Hosp

Overall I would rate it average. The only problem was the restaurant was in the other hotel i.e. at Edgbaston Palace Hotel and it was a real problem to go out of the hotel during snow for dinner.

Terrible
Posted Jan 17, 2012 on Hotels.com
Was kept awake on the Wednesday night due to building work that went on until after midnight. I contacted the reception who said they would 'check it out' but in fact did nothing. When reporting the matter the next morning the reception staff could not be bothered about it and offered no apology. Room very stuffy, frosted up window, no view and bathroom fittings kept falling off the wall. Would not recommend this estabvlishment at all.

This is not a hotel it's an annex of the Palace Hotel next door our room had paint peeling off ceiling the bed was squeezed on to a metal mezzanine floor six foot from ceiling and stairs up to it and single glazed windows so you good hear all the smokers and cars outside. Worst night of my trip.

Ok hotel if your on a budget
Posted Jan 14, 2012 on Hotels.com
He hotel itself was ok and the room was ok for the money. The room looked like it was going to fall apart like the previous review said with the curtains about to fall off, I have no idea why they couldn't get some fixings and make the room look at least a bit more presentable. If your going at the weekend bear in mind this is a cheap hotel and you will get people banging around until all hours coming in from drunken nights out. Nobody seemed to care and were banging about to half 5 in the morning and nobody told them to keep it down as I couldn't see any staff at all. Staff were ok Location excellent If your on a budget this is a good call, if you want a romantic get away i would think twice.

Lighting in the room was very bad. Service in the restaurant was poor. No professionalism from the waiters. The food I had was awful. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
