Dont bank on the Rest or Lounge!

Pros: Not much at all.
Cons: Everything
Location: Airport is the only reason to stay.
Stayed one night and chose this hotel because I had no transportation and needed to be close to the airport. All their info said the restaurant and bar was open til at least 10pm and when I went to eat at 8pm, it was all closed up and no bar either. Very disappointing. The staff had no reason why other than to say, they always close early on Saturdays (despite all their lit saying otherwise). Run down on the outside and walls are paper thin. Did not get a good night sleep and almost missed my plane because they forgot the wakeup call. Won't be doing that again!

Little choice, big surprise

Location: Birmingham airport. Watch the airplanes if you are not flying in one.
With an ice-storm bearing down on Alabama overnight, and an early flight from Birmingham early the next morning, I had to flee the northern reaches of the state before the precipitation began. I chose Clarion mostly because it was on the airport road itself--no way sleet could prevent me from reaching the airport. It was a brand name, and the online pictures of the facilities showed that it would be clean and safe. When I arrived, the personnel were very pleasant and helpful. My room was larger than I had anticipated. The internet was free. I slept soundly in a king-sized bed and awoke in plenty of time. A nice added feature was the full, southern breakfast buffet for an extra $5.50--grits, bisquits and gravy, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, frittata, plus the usual cereals, bagels, and muffins. I would definitely choose it again in similar or other circumstances.

Watch out for spiders!

First of all, the hallways leading to the rooms had a terrible smell. When I went to turn the heat on there was mold in the window seal. While taking a shower the curtain would not stay closed due to the shower rod being loose in the wall. No water pressure and the shower head is only about 5 feet tall. Also the toilet would barely flush. But to top it all off, when the covers were pulled back that night I killed two spiders under the covers. So my wife decided to look around the bed for more spiders and found hair and dirt under the mattress. (and not the hair on top of your head) The whole experience was just not good. I will definitely look for different accommodations next time!

the hotel isn't in the best section of town In addition to that it's fairly run down. I would say it's a stretch to say it's a 2 star hotel.

Pros: It was close to the airport.
Cons: Everything!
Location: Not much to do.
The hotel room was cold & uninviting, no light bulbs in the lamps, unfriendly staff at check-in, etc.

The hotel was good except the restaurant was closed and we could not get any thing to eat.they should have told us when we checked in and we could have gone and got some food before dark.we are a older couple and don't go out after dark in a strange place.
