This hotel is great for a cheap get away which we used it for. Had the night in Birmingham and this hotel was a short distance away in a taxi which was great for us

Dreadful stay, student flat springs to mind.

Pros: Parking
Cons: Clean it up, train staff in responding to incidents.
Location: Location good , close to city.
Kept awake by shouting, and fire alarm going off twice. Security did nothing about the shouting and no one bothered to inform you that it was a false alarm. Room shabby and carpet smelt like sweaty feet. Only good thing close to city and had parking.

Could do better

Posted Mar 26, 2014
Pros: The breakfast was so much better on Sunday
When it got it right it was a good hotel.Example breakfast on Saturday morning a shambles ,Sunday was like a different hotel. The room was very clean but had trouble with lights not working ,towels missing, tv not working properly.

Handy for the broad street area, had a nice walk

Posted Mar 11, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff, comfortable beds
Cons: State of the pool and pool area, looked dirty, had a strange smell. Pool needs to be cleaned more.
Location: Walked into town, but quite a way away if weather bad.
Hotel room was nice, bed was very comfortable. spa facilities were very poor, pool was slimey at the bottom, greasy foam on the top of the hottub, could not use, there was no locks on the lockers so had to take all belongings with us. The steam room was good, but we could not see the cleanliness of it.

An unusual use of the word "Quality."

Pros: Cheap crash pad for the night only. Reasonable bar price.
Cons: Spend some money on it. Our room key was a punch card - shows you how long ago money was last spent here, haven't seen the like in 20 years.
Location is good with Beefeater, TGI Fridays and ASK Italian 2 mins walk away. But we were in room 205, accessed by an ancient lift, a lengthy walk and two further narrow flights of stairs you would struggle to fit a full size case up.The room was functional but there were clear signs of damp penetration along the walls to the window and the curtains were not hung properly and two of the lights didn't work. A general smell of stale air and cooking pervades the corridors and it is clear no money has been spent on this hotel in quite some time. Fine if you need an emergency pit stop for the night, otherwise not to be recommended. Shame, as with investment it could be a good hotel.

Tired looking hotel on hagley road birmingham

Posted Feb 23, 2014
First impression from exterior was that it needed a face lift. Interior the same though room a little better. Staff seemed tired too. No cheerful welcome just flat. Difficult to climb over side of Bath to shower and then awkward to stand due to bath sides being narrow and sloped. Rest of room ok. Breakfast staff unwelcoming and breakfast pretty average. Leisure facilities tired too. Would not go back.

Pros: Staff, breakfast was good and plentiful.
Cons: Maintenance should be improved in the rooms - when you look around the Hotel, you can see it looks very tired.
Location: Close to city center, canal bars and clubs.
Staff/Reception was very helpful and friendly, Nice size room, tea/coffee facility. Breakfast was very good plenty to choose from.
