Nice hotel close to UAB Hospital and downtown.

Interior rooms need refreshing and ac was cold and wet. Rooms smell musty. staff was extremely nice and helpful however.

Location: Near the UAB hospital
Central location and lot of outlets are nearby the hotel. Rooms are comfortable and staffs are very courteous and helpful.

Convenient to UAB

Pros: Location, modern, clean.
The hotel was great, clean, nicely appointed. The front desk clerk at check-in was less than stellar.She was absolutely useless other than to give us our key. There was no information provided as to the facility, no offer of a luggage cart, how to enter or exit the hotel from the parking garage, how to access the rooms, parking validation or even the location of the elevators. She needs training and a review of customer service. Shaun, on the other hand, was excellent! She is very polite and helpful. The hotel is across the street from the Emergency Department at UAB, so be prepared for sirens and helicopters around the clock if you are not accustomed to the activity.

Very convienent to UAB Hosptals

I stayed here because my husband had major surgery at UAB Hospital and they are just across the street. It was expensive and for the price I expected much more for my money. There was no microwave in my room, I had to call the front desk to get the tv to work and the room was in need of upgrading, I.e. New carpet and furniture.

Most convenient hotel to UAB Hospital

Cons: expanded menu in hotel resturant
This hotel is directly connected by walk-way to the UAB Hospital, and centrally located in the heart of the many specialty clinics of the UAB Medical Complex. Ample parking is available in the adjacent parking facility. Multiple resturants are within a block, and very affordable. If you or a family member needs to visit the UAB Hospital, this is your best choice for comfort & value.

Courtyard at UAB disappointing

Pros: Facility was clean the first day, I can understand missing one or two rooms here or there but 3 out of 5 rooms shows the lack of management going on.

We booked our hotel rooms five months in advance anticipating a hectic graduation weekend and we were completely disappointed in the way management handled the booking and blamed everything on Expedia. We arrived to find out that none of the five rooms were ready by check in time and only 2 were finished by 4. The following day we stayed a second night only to find out that their housekeeping staff only cleaned 2 out of the 5 rooms. Completely irresponsible and very disappointing for a Marriott hotel. Their district manager needs to restructure this location from top to bottom before this place loses complete control of its staff. Until they figure out how to handle room scheduling and improve house cleaning this place is not worth the time or money to invest in.

I am in the process of researching why your rooms were overlooked on the second day of your stay. There are many choices of places to stay and I hope this instance does not chankge your choice to stay with Courtyard .

Unfortunately the room was not cleaned up to my standards. I was given a rebate on check out because of my recurrent complaints.

Excellent location within UAB. Nicely appointed rooms and common areas. Very comfortable beds and clean room. Adding complimentary breakfast would be a plus.
