Great Overall Experience

Posted Feb 19, 2015
Pros: Spacious room
Location: It is right in the heart of downtown Birmingham, a great location. It's close to the uptown district, which is an area with a lot of nice restaurants.
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Tutwiler for Valentine's Weekend The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff were nice and everything was clean. One of the best hotels I have stayed in in Birmingham. If you are every in the area, staying at the Tutwiler is a must.

This is a very nice hotel the parking is ridiculous overnight it's $22 per night and I was there for a business trip for 3 days so you leave morning tip the valet come back near afternoon and then tip valet again so I just thought that should've been included in the rate .

Pros:

Pros:
Cons:
Location:

Cons:

Pros: really nothing. If I hadn't paid thur Expedia I would have canceled and got a refund to go somewhere else. The Motel 6 actually has the same amenties!
Cons: Fix the Bathtub Faucet, Put menu's in the room for local resturants, Fix the doors, create free parking for guests, and put micorowaves and fridges.
Location: We were there for a Convention and should have stayed at the Shearton.
The room was average definitly not worth over $100 a night. The Coffee from the room and the breakfast tasted like water. The Fitness area was small. The Ice machine on 2 floors I went to was broken the Bathub in out room was broken. Only one of the entrance doors worked in the hotel. Parking was TROUBLE!!!!!

Perhaps best hotel stay ever

Pros: History, Lobby, Coffee Lounge, Breakfast room, Hotel, take out barbecue at Magnolias on 4th Ave. N. in the black business district
Cons: Maybe could spruce up downtown Birmingham
Location: Go check out the research room in the Birmingham Library. Art museum, McWane Science Center, Civil Rights Institute, Uptown, Kelly Ingram Park, 2nd Av
Put my mother up here for Xmas. The hotel staff was wonderful, the condition of the hotel was great, the room was fantastic. Fun staying in an historic old building in downtown B'ham. We will always use this hotel when in Birmingham.

Downtown Birmingham

Pros: Great free breakfast, complimentary wi-fi.
Cons: Valet parking only option unless you only need on street parking from 6 PM to 8 AM (free). Metered parking during the day, 2 hour meter maximum.
Location: Good access to city and surrounding area.
Not a cookie-cutter hotel. Elegance and history with all the modern amenities.

This was the nosiest hotel I've ever stayed in.

I heard people talking in the hallway and outside the hotel all night. The air / heating system made a loud noise prior to cutting on that woke me up every time it kicked on. Also, church bells rang frequently and loudly close by. Do not recommend for a peaceful experience!!
