Close to restaurants, quick taxi to train/shops

Posted Feb 23, 2015
Pros: Clean, up to date, decent food and wine selection at lounge downstairs
Cons: can't think of anything
Location: the main symphony house, library are nearby. a 5 minute taxi ride away is main train station and huge shopping, restaurant, pedestrian area.
FREE WIFI! Apple TV/Console in each room makes it easy to log into Amazon and rent movies. Very clean, updated hotel with nice restaurant and bar. Room service also convenient. Restaurants and quick coffee places are walking distance and a cab to the main train station and major shopping area is about 5 pounds. Would stay there again anytime.

Good value for money & child-friendly

Posted Feb 21, 2015
Great location for Sealife Centre- literally on hotel's doorstep, with lots of good places to eat at Brindley Place. Although the rooms are not very large, they are modern, clean and quiet. We all had a good night's sleep and my kids loved the buffet breakfast where they could make their own waffles! Staff very friendly.Top tip- There are only 20 car park spaces, so reserve ahead if you are travelling to the hotel by car.

Nice hotel and and very handy for the ICC

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Pros: Handy for the ICC. Staff were pleasant
Cons: Breakfast organisation
Everything was fine apart from breakfast. Too busy - bit like a non stop rugby scrum. We had two drink refills an on both occasions the tea ran out. Our tea was then topped up with coffee but we couldn't be bothered to mention it, as the poor staff were just about sprinting to keep up with the amount of people.

Close to Barclaycard Arena/well located generally

Posted Jan 25, 2015
Pros: Great location. Very clean and modern. Helpful staff
Cons: Can't think of anything that needs improvement
Location: Short taxi ride from New St Station. Smart, the canal area is very attractive. Close to Barclaycard Arena - 5 minute walk. Good restaurant choice.
Needed room for one night after concert at the arena. In easy walking distance of the arena and numerous bars and restaurants along the canal. No queue at reception - young man on the desk couldn't have been more helpful with directions, recommendations, etc. The room was spacious and in excellent condition with very clean, appetising shower room. Didn't have breakfast but tea/ coffee facilities in room. Very safe to walk back from concert and a good place to meet up with friends for a nightcap afterwards.

Birmingham City Centre Hotel

Posted Jan 19, 2015
Very convenient location for shows, shops , bars and restaurants with an adjacent public car park ( for which the hotel provides a 10% discount). Comfortable rooms. Sunday breakfast was a bit crowded with the staff doing their best to cope with the peak demand.

Modern city centre hotel

Posted Jan 5, 2015
Pros: Everthing apart from the room temperature.
Cons: See above
Location: Wonderful location
Everything was fine, except for one thing. The room was so cold we were forced to wear coats apart from when we were in bed. The regulated temperature was far, far too low and could not be increased.

Central Birmingham close to ICC and Symphony Hall,

Posted Jan 1, 2015
Pros: A short walk to the Symphony Hall. There is a secure car park too and free wi-fi.
Cons: Breakfast.
Needed to alter reservation and it took 15 minutes on Expedia because hotel staff couldn't add one additional person to the booking. Unnecessary beaurocracy. Breakfast tea stewed and not particularly hot though staff obliged with hot water, tea and lemon. Porridge excellent but cooked breakfast uninspiring and plates were cold; a definite no-no for me. Our room was clean, comfortable and staff kindly brought a jug of fresh milk and decaf coffee for me after our theatre visit.
