One night stay in BirminghamPosted Feb 24, 2015
Pros: The reception area is nice and check in is easy.
Cons: The rooms need to be re-vamped and updated. Beds and bedding need updating, carpets could do with a clean and bathrooms need a complete over hall.
Location: The one great thing about this hotel is the location, it is literally on the doorstep of all local pubs, clubs and restaurants.
My partner and I booked a night out at the comedy club in Birmingham. I booked this hotel at short notice and didn't know what to expect. On arrival we were pleased at the location, the reception staff were pleasant and we checked in very easily. However, once we got to our room we found it was very dated, the bathroom looked grubby and the room seemed very dark and grim. We didn't spend a great deal of time in the room as we had planned a night out. I must also mention the breakfast buffet is very standard. It has the feel of a school cafeteria and the standard of food is not great. We were glad we were only staying for one night and wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone until it has been updated and some of the issues mentioned above have been addressed. The rooms need a re-vamp, the cleaning needs to be inspected before people check in and the breakfast would benefit from having more choice and quality checked before putting it out on display.

Nice hotel, right on the Middle of town centre.Posted Feb 24, 2015
We enjoyed our stay and the children wanted to stay longer because it is close to some attractions like Wonderful world of trains and planes which the children enjoyed so much and Sealife. We will definitely book this value for money hotel again.

Nice hotel centrally located.Posted Feb 23, 2015
Pros: Convenient location.
Cons: The towel I had was not clean. I rang reception and they offered to send one up but it never arrived even after two calls to reception.
Location: Close to the canal, symphony hall. 15 min walk from new street station. Lots of good eating places nearby.
Comfortable rooms. Easy access to restaurants and shops. Car parking facilities were good. Staff were helpful and courteous. In fact my husband left his phone charger in the room and when we called them they located it the next day and offered to post it to us. Rooms were comfortable. Good for families or couples or if you are on business. No shower caps in the bathrooms.

You are not a prisoner in The JuryPosted Feb 16, 2015
Pros: Very well situated. Lively and friendly
Cons: I think its fine
Location: All the facilities and attractions of Brum are nearby
I have stayed before at this centrally-located hotel and it is very good. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The bar/lounge area was very lively and friendly on the Saturday I stayed there. I had a very nice meal in the Grill room. The menu was varied, service fine and food excellent value for money. The staff are very friendly at reception and in the various public rooms.

A long Weekend in Central BirminghamPosted Feb 4, 2015
Pros: Room was very good, spacious and clean. breakfast was brilliant
Cons: Car parking was too expensive.
We had a long weekend at this hotel and it was very good. The hotel is very well positioned for all the Central Birmingham has to offer. The hotel was clean the breakfast excellent and the only downside was the costs of parking the car which at £14 for 24 hours left us a bit sad!!

Average. Mistakes. Expected better.Posted Feb 2, 2015
I checked into this place at 12.45am after a long working day. I had to wait 20 mins while the two staff on duty pored over a computer screen, looking confused and communicating little. I asked them if they were overbooked and what the delay was, but they responded with "We're just trying to change the allocation". (??) After finally being handed a room key I thought I was on my way, but on entering the room assigned, someone was already in it (who I rudely awoke by switching all the lights on and throwing three big bags in the door. :( The problem was rectified, but no error acknowledged or apology made (more silent embarrassment from the front desk) - or compensatory measures, given I'd had to wait 20 mins in the first place. I expected better service. Disappointing.
