“Bad First Impressions”

Walked in at the end of a long night, tv didn't work , no coffee, nothing had been replenished from previous occupants. no one answered at front desk.

“Good Hotel for the Price”

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Mostly, all I did was sleep while I was there. This hotel is located in a nice shopping center in Homewood. You are about 2 minutes from a wal-mart and really, only about 2 minutes from a lot of Fast Food places as well. I enjoyed my stay and I would stay their again. My only complaints about the hotel is that the elevator we had to use to get to our room had not been inspected in a while. The inspection experation date was 9-18-11 and we were at the hotel late in October and it still had not been updated. So, I was a little worried about the safty of riding on the elevator. Also, there seemed to be some nicer hotels right bye this La Quinta Inn and Suites so, if your looking to stay some where a little nicer, you have options. Overall though, I enjoyed my stay.

We were in Birmingham for medical reasons and booked here because of easy access to UAB medical facilities and the economical price

“Clean and secure, comfortable enough for business travel, good internet”

An often underappreciated feature of La Quinta inns is that many of their locations, such as this one in Homewood, have internal hallways with locking exterior doors. As an admittedly paranoid traveler, I prefer to avoid motels with the outside-hallway design where the entire exterior wall consists of a door, windows, and the heating/cooling unit. This La Quinta is in a decent, generic strip mall suburbia part of Birmingham, so lone travelers should feel fairly safe anyway. This is definitely more of a business traveler's hotel than a place for families. The room was easily big enough for one to two adults, but smaller than you'd see at a more vacation-oriented hotel. The only seating (aside from the beds) where two padded chairs at a small desk-like table. I really appreciated having a hard-wired internet connection that was surprisingly fast for being free with the room. Check-in/out was quick and hassle free, even having booked online only about 4 hours before arrival. I'd stay here again for a business trip of up to a few nights. If it were a family vacation and/or a weeklong stay or more, then I might consider going upmarket for comfort.

“Very Disapointed”

I booked this hotel for my husbands and my anniversary. The reason I booked this hotel was because they where the cheapest with a hot tube. I called the day before to conferm the booking, When I ask if the hot tube was working I was told yes. The night of our stay we were not able to enjoy the hot tube because it was broken.The water was cold and none of the lets worked. Also on the same night the only elavator that went to the 5th floor broke down. As my husband and myself were eating dinner in the hotel we saw several roaches crawl across the wall. If it wasn't for these problems our stay would have been wonderful.

“Stay away if staying more than 1 night”

We stayed 3 nights and 2nd day they did not clean our room. (Did not have a "Do Not Disturb" sign on door either.A) We finally had to ask for clean towels and trash to be taken out that evening. Otherwise everything was fine.

“Great stay”

Staff very friendly. Bed really comfy. Everything nice and clean. Really nice area. Price was good as well.
