“Decent hotel”
I was able to check in and check out of the hotel in less than 3 minutes so the service was impressive. The room was clean, but I found a long hair strand on one of the washcloths and the shower curtain smelled of chlorine. In addition, my room was located across the hall from the storage room so I could hear the maids laughing and talking in the morning before cleaning the rooms. Other than that, I thought the service was fast, and the hotel is close to restaurants and retail stores like Chili's and Old Navy. Also Wal-Mart is just across the street so that was an added bonus.
“Clean, good location, a bite dated”
Good breakfast and excellent location. A bit dated but not bad. Would stay there again.
“Great staff, convenient location, would go back”
This hotel was definitely a value for the price. Nice, comfortable room complete with mini-fridge. Convenient to several restaurants and shopping. Front desk staff was very friendly. The continental breakfast was mostly devoured by a high-school wrestling team, but they need the calories more than I do. The food was, though, quickly replaced.
“Great place to stay.”
Very friendly staff, nice, clean and great breakfast!
“Solid choice”
This hotel was fine - relatively clean, relatively quiet, friendly staff. It's a little bit off the main roads but not too far and possibly more quiet because of it. And restaurants and shops are relatively close by, as is interstate access.
“Weekend stay”
I would stay there again, but I would hope it was cleaner and updated. Also I would hope that the elevator doesn't break down again during our stay.
“Simple, easy stay”
When I travel, I am on the trip for the city and not the hotel. This hotel was clean, room was comfortable, and staff was friendly. And the breakfast is good! A great place for a quick stay. And lots of people were taking advantage of the pool! It made me want to go swimming!
“it's ok”
ok for the price--good location
“Quick access to UAB medical facilities.”
We were in Birmingham for medical reasons and booked here because of easy access to UAB medical facilities and the economical price
“Clean and comfortable, but rock-bottom basic”
It's amazing what corners a place can cut, and still be worth staying at. For instance, the dresser appears to have six drawers--Nope, the bottom two are just the base of the unit. Most people would never need to know that. The breakfast bar is basic, too--One day I got there in time for boiled eggs, but I never saw any scrambled. The TV is way too loud down there, but the courtyard and gazebo are quite pleasant. My main maintenance gripe was that the pool was closed for a few days, and I'd been looking forward to it. I finally got in the last day. All the workers I ran into were very nice. Another time I'll probably go next door and get a suite, so I can get up before my partner without waking him, but it wasn't a bad deal.
