“gone to the paragon”

The hotel gives reasonable services for a good price. Its location is good. The room is tight, but for the price it is ok.

“not impressed”

should you stay at this hotel? pros: - inexpensive - good English breakfast included - reception, restaurants etc. on ground floor have recently been refurbished or are currently being refurbished (bar) - location: close to City centre if you have a car or go by taxi (15 min walk to Bullring) cons: - rooms were fairly clean but small and need refurbishment - location: hotel is located in bad, ugly industrial neighborhood - if you want to walk to places in city centre it takes you 15 min through ugly and lonely streets to Bullring.

“not too bad”

Not too bad considering how expensive hotels in Birmingham can be. Not too far from the centre but could be cleaner and quieter. You can literally hear your neighbours as they were partying in your room ...

“Not impressed but the deal was good”

This hotel is situated in a very bizarre part of the town. I was told by the owner of the restaurant next door that the area was dangerous and not to walk alone at night. The hotel restaurant was closed most of the nights. It would have been good to know. The cleanliness of my room was poor, the hair dryer melted and burned my hair, the door did not have chaine locker or any kind of locker. The check-in was at 3 pm and I arrived at 8:30 am. They managed to find me an empty room at 11 am. First I thought they were very nice but the fact is that the hotel was totaly empty so they could have checked me in upon my arrival?.. The overall experience was OK because the rate I had with Expedia was very cheap. The overall look of the hotel is good. They are specialised in mariage so they have to keep the first floor, lobby, etc very clean.

“Cheap and cheerful”

Interesting Edwardian building unfortunately now lacking its former glamour. In a decaying industrial area [Digbeth] just south of the city centre, an easy walk, but a bit deserted at night, so if uncomfortable get a taxi (theres a rank just outside the hotel). Everything is clean, but the rooms are very small. Staff are friendly and helpful.

“Disappointed”

Hotel is a 15 minute walk from the Bullring which was ok for us. The hotel breakfast was excellent with good service but we were disappointed with our room and asked to be moved which was accomplished with minimum fuss.

“Clean but dated”

Cheap and clean, but very dated and room was small...walls and ceiling were cracked, lights flickered on and off, had to stand on the toliet to turn the bathroom fan off at night, patches of unpainted walls. I was happy there for a cheap place (half the price of others near town), but my wife would have been very unhappy, should she have been there. The food was nice though!

“Budget accomodations”

The hotel staff was very friendly and most professional. The room itself was neither large or too small and was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was in need of remodelling but plenty of hot water for showers and complimentary toiletries. My room looked out to the adjacent park and was quiet. The hotel is located in an industrial area just 15 minutes walk from the city centre. A fiver will take you to and from the train station via taxi.
