Worse than Fawlty Tower'sPosted Jul 20, 2014
Chose this hotel due to the distance from the venue my work had booked for a party. Never ever again will I stay at this hotel. The room work dirty, dresser was caked in dust and grime. Windows were absolutely filthy. The telephone didnt work. The dresser lamp didnt work. The remote was disgustingly dirty. The light on the wall in the room didnt have a cover. There was a horrible stain on toilet lid. There was no iron in the room, so I had walk to reception and ask but they dont have irons to take to the rooms instead have a ironing room which was a joke and crap irons which didnt even work so had to wear a top which was creased. The receptionist was as much help as a chocolate teapot. Good job I was very drunk after my work party to sleep in this room. When it was check out time the man at the desk didnt even acknowledge me in any way took the key and turned away. Should have camped out somewhere!!

Stayed at this hotel lovely building from outside reception staff friendly very helpful. All the facilities kettle tea towels showers etc . The only thing I would say Is the showers have mould also headboards are dusty, otherwise not bad stay not brilliant but ok... Close to city centre.

Newly Refurbished & Ideal LocationPosted Jul 1, 2014
Pros: Location & price
Cons: Door handle to outside of bathroom door
Having stopped previously in the Paragon I was aware that this is a period hotel, but the whole of our floor had been refurbished & now easily rivalled any generic modern hotel chain. We've found this hotel easy to get to with secure parking & is great for commuting about the city.

Basic hotelPosted Jun 29, 2014
If you are looking for luxury this isn't the place for you. Staff friendly, room very basic, didn't have a good lock on the door and I felt it safer to leave my car on the road than the free car park. I stayed with a relative but don't think if feel safe staying their alone.

Good valuePosted Jun 27, 2014
I had a comfortable stay overall but the only thing dissapointed me was how smelly and unclean the bathroom was..the shower smelt really bad, bathroom floor very dirty, rusty soap tray. Plus the bedroom carpet had a lot of dust.

Budget room in BirminghamPosted Jun 22, 2014
Pros: The price is good and the location is OK. Free fast wifi
Cons: Mattreses not very comfortable, could use an upgrade. Needs better lighting in the rooms.
Location: 20 minute walk or 5 min bus ride to city centre. Good shopping, pubs and curries.
A cheap room close to downtown Birmingham. I moved to a different when the WiFi in my original room did not work.

Lonely Hotel....Posted Jun 18, 2014
Pros: The staff are friendly
Cons: The Lobby area and the bathroom in our room is not working properly
Location: Very near to the town centre - Bullring and Chinatown
The hotel is quite old but the rooms are alright. However, the area is really quiet and we had some bad encounter with the hotel guest who disturbed our group. But it is quite close to the town centre though...around 15 minutes walk

Stones throw from town centre but not too busyPosted Jun 2, 2014
Pros: Its location.
Cons: Had to find a staff member as no one was on reception when we called on spec.
Location: A short stroll from the centre with a variety of restaurants which was all we had time for.
A short walk from the town with parking which were our main requirements. A very pleasant overnight stay with good ambience and attentive staff. All you could ask for.
