Family VisitPosted Nov 25, 2014 on Hotels.com
Hotel in the process of being refurbished. Building work currently in progress on new conservatory. Lovely views, pleasant gardens (perfect spot for a wedding). Hotel will be very smart when finished (albeit a little over the top with the gilt theme). Good cooked breakfast, obliging staff, nice room but creaky twin beds.

A Very Nice HotelPosted Nov 4, 2014 on Hotels.com
What an impressive sight on approaching this hotel. Black and gold tall ornate electric gates open into a car park (free parking) with a fountain centre piece. Small reception area but then walking into to the hotel was very classy and clean. Bit of a walk to my room through long corridors and up and down stairs. The room was clean and tidy with lovely colour co-ordinating curtains and bedding. Beds were very comfortable too. The bathroom was very clean, tidy and modern. The view from my window was over the gardens to the rear of the hotel which was a stunning view of well manicured lawns and flowers. I would stay in this hotel if I was in the Wolverhampton area again.

Wouldnt botherPosted Nov 4, 2014 on Hotels.com
Bad experience. On arrival was given a key card which didnt work so had to drag my luggage up & down a flight of stairs on my own & get another key card. Then on entering the executive room i found it was quite small. The shower was tiny & there was no bath. I called reception & asked why there is no bath & was told they are refurbushing only standard rooms have a bath. So I paid extra for less. Then the fire alarm went off at least 5 times. I wont be staying there again.

Nice hotel but not 4*Posted Nov 3, 2014
Have stayed here twice now for family weddings. Staff were friendly and there is a grand entrance lobby but the room itself was not up to 4* standard. Firstly there is no lift in this 3 storey hotel! Which when you have alot of luggage is not fun! The 'standard' rooms are at the back of the hotel, where the entire wing is at a standard temperature of a tropical holiday! As soon as you enter through the double doors you feel the heat like a sauna. When asked about this, was told I could upgrade to executive room with AC.. they did supply a fan though. There are not mixer taps in the rooms, with VERY hot water coming out the hot. The shower pressure was poor. There was no main light in the room but more annoying no net curtains.. so during the day I had to keep closing curtains to change.. although overlooking a field there was builders on site and I could see people in spa.. which means they could see me! :/ I got an early bird deal but would not pay full price for a room. I didn't have time to sample the spa facilities so can't comment on this.

Weekend stayPosted Oct 17, 2014 on Hotels.com
Stayed for a weekend with my wife. Hotel staff are excellent! Very friendly and attentive in the restaurants and reception. On the saturday our sheets were changed but toiletries were not replaced and used glasses were not cleaned. The hotel is in a convienant location for travel to Cosford and Wolverhampton. There is not much within a walking distance however. Gets busy when weddings are on but didnt disturb us.

Ok hotel in wolverhamptonPosted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: Food, health club, staff.
Cons: Comfort of beds, breakfast. desk in room was very narrow for working on and had TV and pamphlets on it. Lighting in room was very dim, no desk light.
Staff were excellent, very helpful.Room was very small, nice bathroom but the decor was dated. I was surprised to find the bed mattress did not have a topper on it, sheets were thin and pillows were awful. Bar food was good but breakfast was disappointing. I had continental breakfast, pastries were disappointing and would have liked a cafetière of coffee instead of the staff filling my cup up for me. Health club was great.

Nice hotel, but very noisy.Posted Oct 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
It was a lovely clean hotel, however there was a wedding on the night we stayed and music was playing really loud until 1am, and we were unable to sleep due to it
