This was our first stay at this hotel. The location is excellent. The hotel was very clean. The room was excellent. Overall an excellent stay. The shuttle service was perfect for our early morning flight. Only 5 minutes to the airport.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER

Posted Apr 27, 2015 on Hotels
This was one of the worst hotel stays that I have ever had. I travel weekly and stay in hotels about 3 days a week and by far the worst customer service I have EVER had at a hotel. There was a convention going on with tons of teenagers. At about 10pm on my second night I could not take the partying in the hallways any longer. I knew that I needed to get a good night sleep because I had to wake up at 4am to get to the airport to go to my next city. I went to the front desk to ask to be moved. The woman asked what my problem was. (I will tell you what MY problem is) I let her know about the kids running the halls and she proceeded to tell me that there were kids everywhere. When I went to my "NEW" room I walked in to find someone else in the room. The next person I spoke to was very nice and got me into the next room. It was a little quieter BUT the lock on my door did not work so I worried all night about someone else getting moved into my room. Kids were running in the halls and knocking on doors until about 2am. Needless to say I did not get any sleep. I paid $179 to sleep in a hotel room and never was able to sleep because the hotel staff could not get their rowdy guests under control. Unacceptable! When checking out the woman at the front desk did not even say a word when I was telling her how horrible my stay was. She just stood there with a blank stare and never said ONE SINGLE WORD.

Check in

Posted Mar 22, 2015
Pros: Location to the concert hall.
Cons: See above.
We checked in at 6:30 and our room was not ready. We had a concert to go to at 8 and had to change in the woman's locker room. Not very covenant. Had to take our luggage to the locker room, changed and then take it back to the front desk then up to our room. Because of this experience I will not be staying here again.

Great Stay in Birmingham

A large youth convention was in town so a little extra noise was expected. Not a problem. The staff was courteous, housekeeping on the 6th floor was ON POINT! Sheraton beds and pillows are top notch!

Great stay even when the hotel was full

Posted Feb 28, 2015 on Hotels
I was there on business, however there were regional high school basketball finals going on in the auditorium that is attached. The hotel was full of players, supporters and their families. The hotel handled the crowd very well and I saw no degradation of any services, even though they were completely full and had a young (energetic) clientele.

Disappointed

Posted Feb 21, 2015 on Hotels
I reserved a King bed, but when I checked in I was told that there weren't any Kings available. First major disappointment. There is supposed to be a lot to do in the Birmingham downtown area, but there was nothing in the room about the immediate area. There was a book, but everything in the book was shopping at least 20 miles away. The room was pretty clean. View was AWFUL! Outside my window was I-20/I-59 and the roof of part of the hotel - nothing but concrete. The hotel is big. There was a Cheerleading competition the day we arrived, so there were several kids roaming the halls and talking quite loudly. I realize that wasn't the hotels fault, but they could have roomed the people from the competition together, so the kids wouldn't disturb the other paying tenants.
