Noisy area but accommodated family of 5.Posted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: Good facilities for a family of 5.
Cons: Did not feel comfortable in the area on the weekend. Front desk staff could have additional information regarding family restaurants in the area.
Location: The area is near a very large and modern mall. We were also a short drive to Cadbury World - a great tour but book ahead.
The hotel was well suited to accommodate our family of 5 and had good kitchen facilities. We stayed two nights - Saturday and Sunday. Saturday night, the surrounding area was a high party area and as a result, we could hear noise from both outside and often in the hallways as people returned to their rooms. There was no noise problems on Sunday night. As well, the hotel is difficult to find. We arrived by car and did not realize that we had to access the hotel through a parkade. The hotel could provide better directions for arriving by car. The front desk staff were very willing to assist with our luggage and to provide information about area restaurants but could have updated their information regarding the nearby mall as they didn't have correct details regarding opening hours and restaurants in the mall area.

Nice alternative for extended staysPosted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: Location. Right in Arcadian Centre, with great choice of restaurants and bars, quite well suited for late night eaters like myself. Close to New St.
Cons: Greater choice of channels on TV. A small gym would be appreciated by business travellers.
Location: Arcadian Centre is one place where you find great choice of restaurants, many open conveniently late. And it's great for gay village visitors.
I stayed for 2 weeks work visit. Good facilities (could do with a gym), neat room, decent furniture, reasonable cooking facilities and a great bonus of having washer/drier in the room, working very well. Limited choice of channels in TV though. The view from the balcony is nothing to talk about, but the location is excellent in Arcadian Centre with good choice of restaurants and entertainment nearby, and conveniently close to New Street station.

staycity apartments - good locationPosted Jul 22, 2014
Cons: There should be longer grace period for checking before charging, as most hotels allow longer.
Location: Great location, bullring is close by, the Arcadia itself has lots of bars and restaurants.
The staycity apartments are great comfy apartments, the apartments are in Arcadia , therefore you are near all the restaurants and bars in birmingham city. It is also very close by to the bullring and new street and moor street train stations, therefore it great if your travelling by train, as you can walk to the stations. I stayed in a one bedroom apartment with three friends, which was absolutely fine, as you have a large double bed and also sofa bed. We planned a girly weekend, of shopping, going out to eat and for night out. The apartments amenties include hairdryer, mini toiletries, washing up liquids, tea/coffee and cutlery. Although the apartments were great, the shower did smell little musty, partly due to there being no window and the weather was really hot. However, overall we had great stay, but would say slightly annoyed with the fact that most hotel give a longer grace period to check out, and dont normally charge for being 30 min late. We had to pay extra £10.00 for checking out at 11.45, as they only allow late grace period of 15 mins. Most hotels usually allow longer.
