Bed and Breakfast in the country.

Posted May 31, 2014
Pros: Quite, nice surroundings, great hosts. great food.
Cons: No
Location: In the country, loads of places to visit, great for hikers.
Stayed for 4 nights. Nice room with great views of the countryside and the wild animals. The breakfast was superb, everything you wanted included homemade bread and jams. The hosts Anita and Terry could not have done more, even took us on a tour of the farm to see the different animals. The dog Tia was always great fun to play with. Would highly recommend

Our second stay at this first class bed and breakfast. The proprietor's Terry and Anita are so warm and friendly and make guests feel really welcome. Anita is such a lovely talented lady, fantastic cook, her home made bread, jams and award winning marmalade's are a delicious treat. The accommodation was beautifully presented, lovely en suite plenty hot water and clean towels, the bed was very comfortable. The small sitting/dining room was very pleasant, the views at breakfast were wonderful and the breakfast itself delicious and plenty. We were delighted to have the opportunity to stay at Dales Farm for a second time and look forward to further visits in the future. Definitely a Quality Bed and Breakfast we would recommend to all.

Got to stay here again !

My wife and I stayed at Dales Farm on the eve of the Great North Run 2012. Tucked away in the stunning scenery of Upper Weardale, you'd be hard pressed to find a more beautiful English rural location. Dales Farm, with its hillside position, allows you to soak up all those wonderful views. What a friendly welcome from Terry & Anita ! Once we'd been shown our room, there was tea, coffee and home-made cakes waiting for us and two other guests - just what was needed after a long day. The Sunday also happened to be my wife's birthday and I had asked Anita if she would provide a bottle of sparkling wine so we could celebrate. A chilled bottle of Cava was dutifully waiting in an ice bucket, together with two elegant wine glasses and a dish of strawberries - thank you so much. Our bedroom was beautiful - just the way we would have designed it ourselves, i.e. light, airy, modern and with nice touches, plus modern conveniences such as Freeview (with a good signal) and free internet access. The mattress was firm but very comfortable; that, and some quality pillows, ensured a really good night's sleep. In the morning, we were treated to one of the best power showers we've ever had in what was an attractively tiled and spotlessly clean bathroom. Whilst we had to leave shortly after 7am, Anita saw us off with a 'packed breakfast' of smoked salmon bagels, muffins and yoghurts, even though we would have normally sat down to a 'full English'. We WILL be finding an excuse to return.
