The room was a suite and very nice and clean. Dogs were allowed at a small extra charge. The chef cooked for us even though we arrived a bit late at the restaurant. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were allowed to check in a bit early. The grounds are pleasant. There is a pool and I wish I had taken my swimming costume!

Unlike most that stay I was not part of a function just basing myself in Preston for a series of meetings over two nights. I stayed in the lodge which was excellent. As a location for weddings it is tremendous but I found the location near'ish the M6 was great too.
Facilities, decor - overall quality was very good. Four rooms all presented to a high standard with sofa beds in two plus a sleigh in the master. Staff were very friendly and breakfast was very tasty.
Whilst unusual I recommend the lodge at Samlesbury highly.

"Friendly & comfortable hotel with great breakfast."
Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable clean room with TV & wi-fi. Wonderful breakfast with fresh fruit, cereals and full English - delicious! Only drawback was the noisy road outside - recommend earplugs especially if you are not used to noise like us but we have stayed here before (and I'm sure will again) so were prepared.

Room was very clean , but small, no drawers in room so not enough room for all clothing. The entrance to our room was through a very small corridor, and late at night you could hear the doors banging as other guests made their way to their rooms, we could also hear snoring coming from the room next door, and as my husband is quite deaf, it must have been very loud.

Home to Blackburn Rovers Football Club, this former mill town was an economic powerhouse during the Industrial Revolution. There are a number of attractive parks in the city, and some interesting buildings, including the impressive 19th century Technical School and the Italianate Town Hall. The rolling hills and reservoirs of the West Pennine Moors are just a short bus ride away.
