Wonderful host

Posted Apr 9, 2014
Pros: This inn and its property are just beautiful. The owners are warm and wonderful people
Cons: Nothing. Don't change a thing
I needed to check into my room early and the owner could not have been more accommodating. He even offered to move me to a bigger room at no additional charge. He gave me a tour of the home and filled me in on its history. This inn and its property are just beautiful. Wow, what can I say other than I cannot wait to go back and visit.

Spend the night in history

Wish I had more time to spend there. It was easy to get to even though it was in the country.

Beautiful, Southern, Stylish and Quaint - Loved It

Posted Sep 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
I totally loved my stay at Rockwood Manor. It's a beautifully restored southern style home. It was clean and comfortable and very well groomed. The service was wonderful and I enjoyed talking with Ms. Sara and her son. I will highly recommend you stay here. If you like cozy, warm with a loud splash of southern living, this is the place for you!

Great B & B

Posted Jul 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
We had a wonderful recent stay at Rockwood Manor. The whole atmosphere was very comfortable and friendly. The bed was great, the breakfasts were super and we really enjoyed the conversation. We discovered that my wife and the Drummonds have some relatives in common, and that was fun. We'll definitely want to stay at Rockwood in our future visits to the Dublin/Radford area. It's a very special and most attractive place. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We wish we could have stayed longer

Posted Jun 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
Upon arrival we met Sarah, a descendent of the original owners of this property. Her son Dan and his wife live in a separate house on the same property. The setting is beautiful and inside is beautiful. My wife enjoyed bathing in the HUGE 4 claw tub and a shower head was installed as well for my comfort. We arrive late and left early because our son was at Radford orientation. We missed out on dinner and breakfast but may go back just to experience eating in the lovely dining area.

Old fashioned Southern Comfort

Posted Apr 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
like being a guest in your friend's home. The second floor rooms are spacious - some w/bathrooms, some w/o. An incredibly gorgeous environment. A real sense of the past. Anyone doing a Civil War tour (not me) should stay here.

Snow covered beauty

Posted Feb 14, 2013
Pros: The house itself is the main attraction, a historic and beautifull home
Cons: Nothing, loved the visit
Location: Set on 60 acres (farm) and just lovely
We arrived in the evening during the middle of the week and our host was waiting for us. We received a "just right" tour of the Manor and was told to enjoy exploring that evening. Our room was comfortable and the antique bed was ideal. This is an old Manor, dating back to the late 1800's so one has to expect that the owners had to retrofit carefully, seeking to provide modern convienence without disturbing the historical nature of the home, I think they struck an excellent balance. The home is beautifull as are the grounds. It snowed the night were were there and woke up to a fantastic covering of white, felt we had taken a trip back in time. The owner cleaned off out car that morning in case we didn't have a snow scrapper, then fixed us a plentiful and tasty breakfast, the dining room is my favorite part of the house. I will be going back anytime I am in the area
