Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Very clean and beds were comfy. My daughter got sick while we were there, after Dr hours, and the owner called the local pharmacy and helped us with some homeopathic remedies to help. They called a taxi for us in the morning, and were incredibly friendly. Breakfast was amazing, as was the restaurant. Delicious. Would highly recommend this hotel if staying in the area, it was top notch.

A hidden gem
A special hotel with modern conveniences in the middle of an old town. This is a family owned hotel with genuine friendliness. The restaurant had excellent food of the area.

Property and rooms were great. Staff friendly. Breakfast very well laid out. Convenient location for shops, food and bars. Lovely little village and the Blautopf has to be worth the 5 minute walk. Only downside - I am sure Europe regulations had stopped smoking inside bars. The hotel bar was thick with smoke and people were lighting up constantly. Reminded me of Germany in the 90s.

Have stayed there a couple of times per year and the service is great. Stayed in the new part of the Hotel which was very nice .Breakfast was always great,management is very friendly and accommodating.Parking is a little tight but no problem.

Lovely little place with a lake and great views nearby. The hotel staff dead friendly. The hotel itself - the room we had was ok although very dated. The breakfast/dining area Is modern and breakfast was great. Stopped here as passing through on way to somewhere else but great little place to stop for a night. Had the most amazing food in the Hotel Zum Lowen so defo worth a trip there for evening meal :)

An old hotel, nice rooms...With marvelous breakfast!
Our rooms were a little crowded for 6 people, but we had expected that, and there were 2 when we had only expected one. There was also a fridge which we hadn't expected. No freezer, but thé folks at the bar gladly gave us ice for our trip before we left. The crowning glory of this stop though, was the included breakfast...just an astonishingly large variety of choices including fruit, yogurts, cereals, many breads, meats, cheeses, coffes, juices...

Wonderful hotel between Stuttgart and Ulm
We really enjoyed our stay here. Late check in. Restaurant and bar... we enjoyed having a local beer and glass of wine. Great breakfast was included the next morning...good coffee- typical euro bfast of meats, cheeses, hard boiled eggs, fresh brotchen, fruits, cereal. Does smell a little smoky on the 1st floor. Rooms are REALLY nice. Nice linens, plenty of towels.

I loved this little town so much the hotel wouldn't have had to be wonderful and I still would have been happy, but the hotel was really charming and wonderful too! Great bed, fast wifi, nice shower, quiet and clean, and good breakfast too! No complaints!

Outstanding restaurant and business accomodations
I stayed at the hotel for several nights while on a business trip. My regular hotel in the area was booked and I was very pleased to discover the Hotel Ochsen. The room was large, excellent for working with a desk, good Wi-Fi, and all the needed connections. The waterfall shower was DIVINE. Also divine was the restaurant, where I had two superb meals, very reasonably priced. This family-run hotel takes service seriously with traditional attention to detail and comfort. The oxtail soup is out of this world and worth a trip even if you don't stay at the hotel. Surrounding area is pleasantly small-town and rural with an easy walk up to the famous Blautopf.

It was a very nice area and good place for our family of five to stay. While the room was a bit crammed with all in one room, it met our needs. They had a very nice breakfast and good service overall.

Very nice little German hotel
Arrived very late at night, great service from the Manger with times outside of regular check in. Very nice clean fresh hotel. Breakfast was great with lots of nice breads, cheese and meats.

Did not like the fact that there is now a very modern cafeteria style dining room. We used to eat in a typical attractive German Stublie room there. So would not choose to stay here again.

Hotel Ochsen worth the detour from the main routes
We have used the Hotel Ochsen for several years as an overnight stop when traveling from Italy to the Rotterdam ferry terminals. This stay as always, was excellent, comfortable, friendly, wonderful food and excellent value for money. The hotel has had a makeover since our last stay, and now mixes the modern with olde world German charm. Would not hesitate to recommend

First class hotel in historic town setting
The traditional hotel facade is a front to a modern interior that is exceptional in the facility provided. The hotel is family owned and run with the assistance of very pleasant and competent staff. The bar and restaurant are comfortable and offer a good range of food and drinks. Rooms are well furnished and clean. .

Our late season stay.
All was brilliant except for the scarcity of staff who seemed to be overloaded at times. When we met them they were friendly, honest and courteous. I'd happily go back. The location is great in an outstanding small town.

Unexpected Treat
I stayed here on a business trip. The outside looks like a traditional German building. Rooms have great modern updates. Clean nice bathroom and a comfortable bed. Restaurant has good food.

We love hotel ocshen
Wonderful location. Beautiful room. Magical view. They were renovating the breakfast room at the time, but there was no distruption to atmosphere or service. We also ate dinner there, and the food & atmosphere was lovely. And popular with locals too - which is always a good sign.
