Beautiful location, right on Lake Monroe. Perfect for couples or families. Located inside of a state park (we did not know this when we booked). Staff was very nice!! Food was great!

The hotel was very clean and nice! It's located on the lake in a quiet wooded area but is close enough to get to places you need to go quickly!

Room musty and restaurant buffet lacking food

Posted Sep 3, 2014
Pros: Lake is great and the bar was nice. We will give it a second chance.
Cons: Improve the buffet. If you offer one make sure that there is plenty of food availlable
Location: Oliver winery very nice. Grounds well maintained outside of the resort.
Our room air conditioner dripped on the carpet creating a wet carpet and moldy smell. Other than that, the room was okay. The main restaurant buffet that was to be prime rib became filets on Saturday night. There were not enough filets to feed the patrons and after our salad we had to wait over 20 minutes for them to bring more out which were raw in the middle. Poor waiters had to put up with a lot of complaining. Just not a reasonable portion of food available with out extending waiting time. Desserts were embarrassing as the most I saw set out were 4 pieces of chocolate cake and 3 pieces of apple pie. Eat somewhere else for the price of $24.95.

Mixed but overall a good stay

Hotel may have just remodeled the rooms, so the bath is nice, but the beds are extra soft and small. Would have preferred queens that were firmer or offered more support. Pool and surrounding grounds were very nice, but the patio off our room could not be used due to the massive gnat swarms (also at the front entrances). Don't even bother to ask for an extra fifteen minutes or half hour if you need time to check out. Service at the bar was great; at the restaurant was ok. Food was fine. Buffet breakfast was very good.

Great relaxing location.

My daughter and I found this resort by accident last year. We were dropping my granddaughter off at IU and every hotel was booked. We loved staying out here....so peaceful and beautiful. So, we decided to stay out here again this year. Would like to plan a family vacation here sometime as we love boating and the activities around the water. Not too far from Bloomington, the ideal place to stay before dropping your kids at college.

Unwelcome check-in

Posted Aug 20, 2014 on Hotels.com
Excited about coming, but our check-in was very unwelcoming. Male desk clerk never greeted us, was more interested in standing very close to the female clerk, left the desk in the middle of checking us in, was uninterested in answering any of our questions. Let us know that because we booked through a third party, he had to take extra steps to check us in. It really made us feel unwelcome!!! Not a good start to our stay. Other than that, the room was nice.

Older hotel on a great lake 20 min.from Bloomingto

Posted Apr 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
It is an older hotel: dark, stinky( chemicals, old carpets?) with inconvenient access stairs and only one elevator that did not work. Through Hotels.com it cost us much more than it would have cost direct! So much for your "deals"! The hotel is sitting on a beautiful lake with a big number of parked boats. Suspect that during season, it will be noisy. Buffet breakfast was not included in the ridiculous priice/ night it cost us to stay there ! Check in time is 4 pm and check out was at 11 am- you pay for have the day! We asked to additional 30 minutes and it was a problem. It was granted after reluctantly checking with a manager!
