“Only in a pinch”
Staff did the best they could with an old, out dated hotel/motel.
“Better than "not bad," especially for the money”
The main complaint we had was, please hotel management: discover fitted bottom sheets? The old style non-fitted sheets aren't large enough, they come untucked during the night, bunch up with the bed pad & get uncomfortably lumpy. This ain't 5-star folks, the heating/cooling units are noisy (which actually makes for good anti-traffic whitenoise) and not particularly well calibrated, the TV is old-style small screen, the bathtub lacks grab-bars or a properly-roughed up floor surface, the water pressure in the shower is barely adequate, there are few vending machines with limited choices, and the "continental breakfast" barely qualifies. BUT: the staff are courteous and efficient, it's inexpensive, close to food & shopping, secure, very clean, no critters. We needed a clean, dry place to sleep and leave our stuff while we were out all day, and the Travelodge got the job done.
“Cheap stay for a weekend in B-Town”
A group of us IU almuni wanted to come down for homecoming weekend and this was our cheapest/pretty much only available option. Would I have stayed here if there were other options? Probably not. But for what it was..the rooms were fairly clean from what we could tell. The beds were not that comfortable, but worked after a night of drinking. The workers at the front desk though were awesome. When trying to get a cab to go out, we were not able to get through to the cab co. The guy at the front desk called and bam it was there in 5 minutes. Overall, it was an alright experience. Again, if I had other placesd to stay, I probably would not choose the travel lodge. You won't have mints or chocolates on your pillow, but it worked to go out for a night of drinking and reliving memories of IU over homecoming weekend.
“Good bargain for the money”
I've stayed here before. Since we're not spending much time in the room, it's reasonably priced and decent accommodation. Hardly deluxe but adequate.
“Don't Stay Here -”
Avoid this hotel. It is dirty & not maintained. Mattress was worn, room had an odor, light fixtures were rusted & drywall was buckling & about to fall in the shower. Even if you are visiting IU I would recommend staying a few miles away in Martinsville or Bedford.
“Stay Elsewhere”
This is one of the hotels that jacks up the price during popular weekends for nearby Indiana University. I should have known that when all the rest of the hotels in town were booked but there were still rooms at the Travelodge. There was a bare bulb in the ceiling of that bathroom, peeling wallpaper in the room, and very old stained carpet. The ONLY thing going for this hotel is that it is very near the IU campus, but I would stay 20 minutes away next time in order to avoid this hotel.
“short stay, thankfully”
Labor day weekend, short notice, only place in VBloomington with a room. Carpet was stained, mattress was sagging, television from the 70s. Air conditioner flickered on and off randomly. Overall cleanliness was good most importantly bathroom was clean. I guess you get what you pay for.
“Cannot recommend”
Low price, good location - low quality. We were so tired we stayed, but...The mattress sheets did not cover the bed. The Bathroom - I was afraid to step into the shower, the floor and the shower liner scared me.
“Fair, but reasonable for price”
Clean room, convenient. Nothing special positive or negative.
“Really run down and my room smelled funny. It is the cheapest option in town, though.”
I would only recommend staying in this hotel if you have no other options or you are on an extremely tight budget.
