“Rustic and Retro in the Mountains”

Normally I don't care for old buildings with character, however, the service was excellent, the food in the restaurant was extremely well crafted, and the room was extremely clean even though the furnishings are a mish-mash of different decades and there is no built-in air conditioning.

“Old fashioned customer service in a beautiful hotel”

We spent 6 nights on the road recently, and this was BY FAR our favorite hotel. The customer service was the kind you don't usually experience anymore, and the hotel was exquisite. We loved eating our (free!) breakfast in the restaurant with the lounge music playing and our personalised service. Our room was absolutely adorable and comfortable and we loved the electric blanket on our bed. For the price we paid, I would have been happy with average, but was blown away by the hotel, the staff and the surroundings. The location is perfect too, very close to the main strip, and walking distance from beautiful lookouts. We only wished we had been spending more time there and we can't wait to go back! We will definitely be recommending Hotel Blue to all our friends.

We were treated like family while staying at Hotel Blue. Great food, especially the sumptuous breakfast. Creative dinner menu. Just a few steps to the hop-on-hop-off bus.

“Olde worlde relaxation”

We loved the hotel's lounge area. Felt like we should have been back in the 1920's or 30's. Breakfast was terrific. The staff are all absolutely fantastic, friendly and helpful. Only drawback was our room which is in urgent need of renovation or refurbishment. Thanks for the ghost story on our last night Christian!!

The only disappointing thing was our evening dinner in the hotel restaurant. Otherwise a very nice hotel and we would go there again, but have dinner elsewhere.

“Hotel Blue, a charming discovery.”

Hotel Blue was a delightful experience. Stepped back in time. Staff very welcoming and more then willing to please. Very friendly. This Grand Hotel has certainly seen better days but retains so much charm and character is is easy to forgive and perhaps even overlook the work required to bring this old lady back to her original glory. My son (9 yo) and I stayed there for 2 nights. As there was only a very tiny tv in the bedroom we often ventured to the main lounge area where there was a cosy fire, billiard table, numerous chess boards set up and lots of board games to play. the indoor pool and spa were a hit also.. Walking distance to town. Short drive to famous lookouts etc. Breakfast (supplied in the room cost) was substantial. Our room was pleasant enough, bathroom looks like it was last updated in the 70s. My bed was very firm, sons was complete opposite. Beds warm & clean. Don't go expecting a flash hotel but a charming experience spent by staying in this treasure.

Fantastic feel to this old fashioned hotel and staff that make you feel extremely welcome and have all the local info you could need. Would definitely go back again.

The ambience is great and although a bit in need of tidying up it adds to the feel. Its like going back in time with the old furniture. We loved the pool table and board games. My only issue was the food was ordinary between us we had all the mains on the menu and they were all disappointing. The spa is great after a days bushwalking and Lars is a legend.
