Comfortable old historical hotel.Posted May 13, 2014
Comfortable stay in an old building. Nothing flashing but pleasant for a few nights.

Disappointing GetawayPosted Apr 27, 2014
Pros: The look of the hotel from the outside with the lead light windows is lovely.
Cons: Include breakfast in the room rate especially if you are staying in a supposed above average room.
We stayed in a Deluxe King room for two nights. We were given a dark dingy room, very small and it faced another window in the alley. The window in the bathroom was stuck so we couldn't open the window and there was no exhaust fan in bathroom. It was extremely noisy throughout the entire evening.

Weekend awayPosted Apr 27, 2014
Pros: What wasn't to like. Very good.
Location: Very convenient to everything, close enough to walk leisurely to three sisters and good hill for exercise on way back.
Hotel was very nice and very convenient to shops and three sisters. Nicely renovated.

Good hotel and basically what you can expect. The only thing that could have been better is the breakfast. Small selection of most things, for example only two types of cheap bread. Expect a lot more of a breakfast for 20 dollars. You would probably get a better and cheaper breakfast at a local cafe.

Rooms were stark. Bare necessities only. Inadequately staffed. Spa and sauna out of service. Expected more for the rate they charged.

Central location boutique hotelPosted Feb 3, 2014
Pros: Nice Sauna and good quality new public spa.
Cons: Free wifi in the hotel rooms instead of just the public common area.
Location: Main street of Katoomba down the end just past all the restaurants. Close to the blue mountians etc.
Nice boutique hotel with excellent, friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are a little older but in good condition and clean. Common area in foyer with lounges, fireplace and free wifi is a nice bonus. Bigger nicer hotels in the area but a good #2 if they are full.

Enjoyable stayPosted Dec 31, 2013 on Hotels.com
Main areas of hotel in good condition with period features that have been well maintained. Room was clean, bathroom not cleaned as well as would have liked - bar of soap left from previous occupant, body hairs in the bath tub, half used toiletries left on side for us to use.

Restored old buildingPosted Dec 28, 2013
Pros: See above.
Location: Close to restaurants and shops in the main business street of Katoomba. Also to tour facilities. Possible to walk to the railway station.
A one night stay over the Christmas period. The hotel building dates back to 1896, but has been renovated/restored several times. The main lounges are appropriately furnished, there is a large fireplace and interesting decor. My room was at the front, with original stained glass windows. It was freshly painted, and the ensuite was clean and attractive. Staff were friendly and efficient. Would certainly recommend it.
