“Authentic old world charm”

I was a little worried after reading some reviews. This is not a run down hotel. It is 150 years old, so it looks antique. The room was spacious, the bed was great. The outside noise was minimal. They're continuing to make improvements as there was discreet construction going on during our stay. If you are looking for an authentic old world atmosphere, this is your place. But unless you are a backpacker, do not opt for the shared bathroom. They are more like a dormitory bath.

“Grand Old Hotel”

The Carrington is a grand old hotel. It features beautiful stained glass windows and wonderful shared rooms like a billiard room and several lounges. It really made me feel like it was a place where people visiting "the colonies" would have stayed for several months. We really enjoyed the continental breakfast and were just disappointed that the dining room was closed for dinner when we were there on New Year's Day.
