Breath TakingPosted Jul 13, 2015
Location: Central to the 3Sisters and Sky Walk/Rides Lots of Cafes and places to eat in the main street
This old girl has been around a very long time, opened in the 1880"s and she is everything that you could imagine a hotel built back then should be. The Grand Dining room, The Ball Room etc are simply stunning. If only the walls could talk, the stories she could tell would be amazing. If you like your history I would highly recommend The Carrington. The staff are very helpful and friendly and nothing is too much.

Pros: Location Lounge room facilities Breakfast
Location: Great variety of restaurants Several old wares stores Not far from Three Sisters
We found the Carrington to have the character and charm of a bygone era with its federation features and open fire places. Right in the middle of town across from the railway station. We were upgraded to a spa room but had no view. Overall we enjoyed our stay which was warm and comfortable as we stayed mid winter .Great facilities for a quiet winter getaway. We played pool by the open fire and snooker on a full size table. Dining was a pleasant experience with plenty of fresh food and jams. Several comfy sitting rooms to read or even play the piano. Nice bar with memorabilia. If your after old style comfort The Carrington is just the place.

Old world charmPosted Jul 6, 2015
Pros: Warm atmosphere.
Cons: Ensuite would be ideal.
Location: Centrally located. Many old and charming shops.
A lovely old hotel and very friendly reception. Stayed in traditional room with shared facilities. If you could look past this inconvenience you will enjoy your stay. I would certainly return.

Close to major attractionPosted Jun 11, 2015
Pros: The Hotel exudes old world charm and history (built circa 1890). Lounges and dining room were very nice. Breakfast was good.
Cons: Bathroom facilities were communal, down the passage, albeit still reasonably good. The major negative point of the hotel.
Location: The hotel is well located. It is close to the major attractions of the blue mountains. Also close to restaurants and the main station.

food and drinkPosted Jun 11, 2015
Cons: employ a chef instead of a kitchen hand. open the bar longer. train your staff to a better level of competence.
why is the restaurant only open 3/4 days per week. why was the bar closed before 9pm. why did their brassier run out of food at 8pm on a public holiday. why didn't it run out of food before I ordered the most disgusting so called Famous Meat Pies ? No chef would dare have the nerve to call himself a chef who served that garbage. It was the middle of winter and I had to ask the barman three times to turn the air- conditioner on. he was more interested chatting to a female customer.

nice old world hotelPosted May 27, 2015
Pros: Restaurant was nice and my meal delicious
Cons: a sink in my room would be good and since that is unlikely to happen perhaps several large bottles of complimentry would be good
Location: lots of cafes and restaurant within a short stroll of the hotel.
The room was very warm and the shared bathroom while very clean was down the corridor. I didn't realise this at the time of booking but that is because I did not read the description properly, my fault entirely. There was no sink in the room and only two bottles of complimentry water were provided in the fridge, however you could get more by asking at the hotel bar. Some minor inconveniences but quite a charming hotel with an old world feel and with very nice and helpful staff. I would very much like to stay here again however next time I will book a room with its own bathroom facilities.

Nice and central hotelPosted May 20, 2015
We stayed at the hotel on our two day trip to the Blue Mountains from Sydney. The spa room was comfortable, clean and nice, and the staff had been thoughtful enough to locate us at the end of the corridor so we didnt have to feel so selfconscious about the night-time wake-ups of our six month old daughter. The breakfast was a simple continental buffet which did the job. Overall, nothing to complain but nothing special either so a good place to stay when you just want something that works and doesnt cause headaches but perhaps not for those amazing special occasions.

UnexpectedPosted May 11, 2015
Bath room facilities at the end of the hallway, cold and wet - not expected from a 4.5 star Hotel.

Old world charmPosted Apr 30, 2015 on Wotif
Beautiful old hotel in the heart of the blue mountains. 10 minute drive to the 3 sisters and Scenic world. The continental breakfast was fantastic, which was included in our rate, and you could order a hot breakfast if you wanted for an additional charge, but honestly the selection of food was more than enough! We had cocktails in Charlie's champagne bar, then sat by the fire in the lounge area before heading out to dinner. Over all a great experience and I would definitely go back.
