Amazing experience, starting from the nice greeting of the owner, to the amazing decorations that mix a modern style with an old simple ones, a very nice breakfast, and strong wireless connection, international plugs, microwave, kettle, coffee and tea, and cooking equipment all in the room, it was more like I am in my own apartment back home.

This hotel is exactly what the name would suggest: a beautiful manor house in the city, filled with antiques, four poster beds (but very comfortable, no saggy mattresses here!), modern spacious bathrooms, fantastic breakfast, welcoming friendly and helpful staff, super breakfast, and you're right on the edge of the Bo-Kaap.
You may hear the prayer from a nearby minaret in the morning, but that just adds to the ambience…

We were very well received by Edward, who gave us good advice and information for exploring the area, booked our taxis, and made tasty muffins and croissants. The room was small but cosy. The kitchen area was clean and the choice for self-made breakfast was good. There is a closed garden where guests may smoke.
The location is convenient for exploring Cape Town, and a few blocks from Long Street where you will find restaurants (Africa Café is even closer), and can hop on the sightseeing double-decker. It is also within a comfortable walking distance from the Castle of Good Hope and District Six Museum, and you can go to the V&A Waterfront or Table Mountain cheaply and quickly by taxi.

A little apprehensive of the location on arrival, as the residential area was a little run down. The guest house however, is not. We booked a small double, and arrived to find that our accommodation contained a double bed; private safe; wardrobes; tv (though only 5 channels); hifi; kitchenette including kettle, caffetiere (& tea and coffee); fridge, hob, and sink; table and chairs; sofa; patio; and bathroom with large bathtub and walk-in shower. The room, with silver high-spec finishings, was spotless. The shared kitchen was stocked with bread, croissants, pastries, cheeses, preserves, fruit and drinks, to be consumed any time, and again, was very clean. Only a 5 minute walk to Long street, however we felt the need to take a taxi back at night at a cost of approx R30, for safety reasons, and the fact that the property is atop a very steep hill. Hospitality was great. Overall, impressed with the accommodation.
Tip; during our stay, no taxi driver knew of the accommodation, so ensure that you have the full address (and maybe even a map to guide them there if need be).
