terrible staffPosted Nov 4, 2013
Pros: the proximity to the sea - with 95% accessibility by lifts/buggy
Cons: service of reception and dining staff
Location: bodrum town-centre was accessible by water taxi which was fun and day trips to Kos/Ephesus were also good (not organised by the hotel!)
The reception staff (especially the night receptionist) was worse than terrible!! He was rude and unhelpful and was quite happy to completely ignore us when we tried complaining about the AC in our room not working despite paying for a sea-view air-conditioned room. He was the rudest I have ever met in a hotel. The restaurant staff were also extremely rude on numerous occassions - they did however apologise when we complained. The hotel itself has a convenient location with a nice (but freezing) outdoor pool and the room we were finally moved to was good.

Nice hotel in a cool placePosted Aug 18, 2013
This hotel is a little far away from the city; but its well equipped and you won`t need anything while you are staying here. Good for young couples.

Bay View with Nice Brealfast and Away From TownPosted Jan 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
My wife and I stayed 4-nights over New Years and hotel was not very busy and only the upper levels were open. The Good: Resort had large open areas, nice lobby, decks and fitness / pool areas. Staff was very helpful and breakfast was outstanding for the small amount of people at the resort. Our room was 828 and was very clean with a great view of the bay. Even though the majority of the resort was closed, we walked to the lower levels and beach areas which would be great in the summer months - this is somewhat of a walk if you are on the upper level.. The Bad: Lots of solid flooring (marble) and thin room walls so you can hear everything including peoples conversations in the adjacent room and televisions which is very disturbing. In the winter months the water Taxi is not running so you have to take a Taxi or walk into town which take about 20-minutes, need to remember this is on a hill so the walk back is up hill - there is a taxi stand just outside the hotel entrance so very close. In the winter months with reduced services (not the hotels) we would probably stay in town, however, in the summer months we would stay at this resort.as the location is perfect

Lovely Hotel in a lovely locationPosted Jun 4, 2012
Pros: The facilities are excellent, food is varied & very good, staff are helpful.
Cons: Entertainment at night could be improved.
Location: Excellent location, so peaceful & relaxing, lots of sightseeing trips offered, i.e Kos, pannukale, epheseus, etc.
Would totally recommend this hotel. So peaceful & relaxing, lovely views, food is excellent. Had spa treatment, which was wonderful. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. The only criticism I have is the entertainment, could be better!

WE WILL BE BACKPosted May 26, 2012
Pros: The lovely gardens
Cons: There were none
Location: Hotel is located in a small bay with other hotels. It is a quiet area and you can take the boat taxi into Bodrum Town for shops, bars and nightlife.
This was our fourth visit to Salmakis Resort and we enjoyed another eleven nights here. We will be back.

Average service, average hotel, average foodPosted Oct 16, 2011
The most exciting thing about this hotel is some of its gorgeous views of Salmakis Harbor. Other than that, it is just your basic sprawling hotel with lots of older guests daytripping around Turkey. The location was a pretty simple walk into town, but up a very steep hill. The food, although having abounding options, was rarely delicious. Overall, I have to hope that there are more exciting and better hotels in Bodrum.

Not happy with the front desk peoplePosted Jun 24, 2010
One of their staff in the front desk was not professional. He seemed arrogant and rude to me and other guests. Room was not clean and had several problems. Hotel was too slow to fix the problems and did not offer any appology or accomodation. They did not offer any formal statement to explain additional room charges, other than a verbal comment about additional charges at the check out time!

Great experiencePosted May 12, 2010
Outstanding service from the front desk to the dining room. The facilities were very nice. Great views from the room, the lobby balcony and the outdoor dining area. April was a perfect month to go to bodrum. The water taxi to the town was wonderful.
