“A Nice Stay, but with Caveats”
I'll start with the bad points. Non-Turkish speakers will have a very difficult time here, as only one or two people speak a little English and they work only during daylight hours. Check-in after 6:00 p.m. is a DISASTER. The location is very remote and about 45 minutes from Bodrum - a car is very necessary if you want to truly enjoy Bodrum, shop for the self-catering apartment, etc. The electricity and water are shut off for several hours EVERY DAY. Apparently it's in the entire development, although why a property of this size does not have water storage tanks or generators is puzzling. Management does not seem to have any concern for resolving issues and its basic response is "it's not our fault." (I contend that it's not the guest's fault, either, that they can't flush toilets or bathe for hours every day). If you get the 'all-inclusive' concept, the food is mediocre and the small buffets are swarmed with tour groups who behave as though they have never eaten before in their lives.
Now the good points. The apartments are large, modern, and beautiful. Fantastic views are available, and the appliances and air conditioning are amazing. If you have a car, it is a great location to stay for a week or two. If you speak Turkish, it's even better, because you can find the answers to all the questions that no one could tell you upon check-in. The market and pools on site at Turquoise Homes are fantastic.
