“What about the Airport pick-up/return?”

The Hotel was pleasant enough. Bogota is not a very exciting destination during the Fall. It rains a lot. The hotel advertises airport pick-up. I phoned the hotel from Cartagena and was told that there was no pick-up available for the time that I was arriving from Cartagena. I arrived at 12noon. When I mentioned this at check-in, I was told that there was pick-up available and I was asked if I was certain I called the correct hotel. I was a bit annoyed at the statement. And showed the clerk the number I had dialed from my print-out of the confirmation. I certainly had dialed the correct number and knew this considering someone answered and included the hotel's name in their greeting. The next day I was told that the shuttle would be available to take me to the airport. And it left on the hour, no reservation was necessary. When I inquired that morning, 2 hours before I was planning to leave, I was told that the first shuttle was at 9am. I needed to be at the airport at 8:40am. So, again I had to take a taxi. This stay cost me about 40.00 more than I anticipated. I felt like it was a kind of bait-and-switch. I would have stayed closer to the airport if I had known.

“Could be much better”

The place is not good for evening or night travellers because its location in a unsafe area. Upon arrival there was no one to assist with laugage and there was not ATM available to get cash because they close thyem down in the evenings. The one ATM in the hotel had no funds..
