Stylish and affordable

Posted Apr 10, 2014
Pros: Location, staff and general comfort.
Cons: Just the water pressure in the shower; a small thing that is most likely out of the control of the hotel
Location: La Candelaria is the perfect place to stay; close to restaurants and sites
Great place to stay in the middle of the buzz of La Candelaria. A lot of care was taken in the decoration and furnishing of this hotel which is so refreshing. The staff are lovely and put up with my terrible Spanish which is a bonus!

Atmospheric and welcoming hotel.

Posted Feb 16, 2014
Pros: Decor, location and friendliness.
Cons: I found the bed a bit hard. A small niggle was the small number of hangers in the wardrobe and the lack of hooks and sufficient towel rails.
Location: Old town La Candeleria. Colonial architecture. Near Botero and Gold museums and many more and old churches. Montserrate hill worth a visit.
We had an excellent welcome and staff were always friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and had attractive art work as did the rest of the hotel. There were fabulous flowers and plants all around the hotel. The roof terrace had a great view and was a lovely place to relax. A good breakfast was served. The location was in the heart of the old city and it was great to have a view over the street. We did not find noise a problem, even though our room overlooked the street. There was a very handy and excellent Italian restaurant just a few yards away. We took a taxi after dark for anything further away for security reasons. The area was fine in daylight and really handy for the main sights and Montserrate.

Our stay in Bogota

Posted Jan 21, 2014
Pros: Very easy to get to many of the museums, quite central to everything we did in Bogota. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfast.
Location: Great central location. Close to many of the museums and other attractions. I highly recommend. Hotel Casa Deco.
Hotel Casa Deco was right in the middle of the Candelaria district. The old city. It had a beautiful terrace on top of the hotel with great views of the city. The rooms were very spacious and clean.

Great location right in hip, old Candelaria area

Posted Dec 2, 2013
We loved Hotel Casa Deco. The breakfasts were delicious and complimentary, the staff was so warm and friendly and helpful and full of suggestions. And our room was a big bright space with a nice balcony looking out over a colorful block (though we were waken up a couple of times by noise on the street it was worth it for the view and for the overall great experience.) The Candelaria was our favorite part of Bogota. The area around it is full of students and restaurants and coffee shops. Maybe not safe to walk around in at night, but we loved exploring during the day and at twilight too. We stumbled onto an art gallery and a museum and the area was so beautiful at dusk.

The hotel is easy walking distance to the main attractions in the historic district. There's a pleasant square with restaurants and cafes two blocks away.A very nice breakfast was included in the price with fruit rolls and a choice of omelet or pancakes. There was even a guitarist playing at breakfast.

Great hotel in the historic center.

Pros: Friend
Cons: Nothing!
Comfortable clean room, friendly staff--everything one can ask for. I personally like staying in the old center--I find it charming and it seemed safe--but obviously if you prefer a more trendy neighborhood, you should choose an option elsewhere.

well-situated lovely boutique hotel in old Bogota

Posted May 5, 2013
Pros: location, architecture, staff
Cons: not really.
Location: Botero Art Gallery, National Gold Musem, Cathedral.
Wonderful property equaled only by delightful staff but room can be quite noisy due to old Bogota, La Candelaria location.

A great stay in a superb hotel

I could not fault this hotel. The English speaking staff were very helpful and friendly as were all the other hotel staff. The breakfasts were excellent and well served. The hotel decor was spot on and the terrace was the hotel's jewel in the crown. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this hotel.
