Good Choice for Candalaria districtPosted Nov 17, 2014 on Hotels.com
Promised complimentary water was never received. I was charged 4,000 COP for water. This is an historic hotel in the Candaleria district. I was on a packaged tour and they chose to stay at this hotel and I did not want to change hotels. I booked an extra night here. It would not be my first choice of areas to stay.

Increíble lugar para una noche de descansoPosted Nov 11, 2014 on Hotels.com
La estancia fue maravillosa, lo único malo fue que había un matrimonio y por lo tanto no fue posible cenar en el mirador. Por lo demás, cinco estrellas.

An oasis of calmPosted Nov 2, 2014 on Hotels.com
Hotel Opera es lo máximo! We went here for a brief romantic getaway - and it was perfect. The hotel is beautiful, the location perfect - an island of peace downtown - the people that work there are lovely. And there is a beautiful spa and pool as well! I wish we were able to stay longer!

Excelente Ubicación y ConfortPosted Oct 5, 2014 on Hotels.com

Gem in La CandelariaPosted Aug 20, 2014
Pros: The location, the staff, over all experience.
Cons: The walls are not sound proof - you can hear everything in the surrounding rooms.
Location: Perfect location near all the main museums, churches, plazas.
Spent just two nights there, but it was a very nice experience. Excellent location in La Candelaria near all the interesting attractions in the center, and on a very secure pedestrian street. Possible to walk to the museums and the cable car station that goes to Monserrate. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. There is a nice restaurant on the ground floor in case you want to eat in, maybe overly fancy but the food and service is good and it's nice to have the option since the area is pretty quiet in the evening. The room was on the 7th floor on the deco side of the hotel. Spotless and with all amenities I needed. The only down side is that the building is old and not sounds proof, so I could hear activity in the halls and neighboring rooms. But this didn't bother me at all at night. Over all I would say a great hotel for the location, staff and the rate.

Polite, helpful service. Breakfast very good. Very helpful and friendly staff. Near the most important museums and restaurant serving traditional dishes.
