“Charm and ambience in La Candelaria”

This is a wonderful hotel in the best part of town. The staff was enormously helpful. I believe the rooms in the modern part (7th floor) are quieter, although those in the old colonial part of the building are roomier. Tub was quite slippery in modern 7th floor room but staff encouraged us to put a towel in it and that did the trick.

“Bogota Rocks”

We stayed in the newer section of the hotel. We found it affordable, the breakfast courtyard was charming. The hotel overall was charming. Service was great and the neighborhood, La Candeleria was fantastic.

“Wonderful Hotel”

I strongly recommend this hotel. It is centrally located in the historical district.I recommend having them pick you up from the hotel. The staff is friendly and professional. The room was large and the bathroom was spacious. They offered wonderful amenties. The decor and the feel of the hotel was wonderful. The breakfast which was included was amazing. I really liked the hotel. They had a well-equipped business center and a lucious spa!!!! If you will be conducting business in this area I highly recommend this hotel

“Impressed”

We stayed at the Hotel for 3 nights and were very satisfied. The staff was extremely polite and most spoke at least some english and with our broken spanish we overcame the language barrier easily. The room we stayed in was on the 7th floor and was very modern as advertised and very clean plus had a great view. Well located in the Centro Historico area of Bogota with many historic buildings, museums and restaurants within walking distance. We felt safe, you get used to the MP's with their AK 47's knowing they are really there to protect.

“great for female solo traveler”

I learned about this hotel from a New York Times article about the tourist revival in the Candelaria area in Bogota. I traveled there solo. The hotel immediately responded to my request to arrange for a taxi to meet me at the airport, and with short notice. Their responsiveness to this and other requests while I was at the hotel made me feel very at home, secure, and comfortable. The front desk staff was very knowledgeable about the area and attractions. The hotel is an excellent location for exploring the Candelaria area (the Colonial/historical) by foot and conveniently located to other zones in Bogota. However, there is so much to do and see for several days in this area alone. I loved this hotel and highly recommend it!

“Great hotel that got 2nd rate plumbing fixtures.”

It was a great hotel and we enjoyed our stay. For a hotel of this level they should have their plumber check the fixtures - the handles and drains are all loose.

“Great hotel for a short stay”

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night. The staff were friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed our room, which had a balcony and view of the main street. This hotel is ideal for couples as it is charming and comfortable.

“Lovely but noisy”

Candelaria is a great area. The hotel building is a great Colonial bit of architecture and the hotel is nice but it needs upgrading, fresh paint, sound proofing. The windows and doors are such that everything is heard both inside and outside the hotel. This became a problem.

“Disappointing...”

Great location, in the heart of the Candelaria, but although the hotel is interesting , it is noisy, the bed was uncomfortable and the staff, other than Felipe at the front desk who went above and beyond, did not seem to care much. The Candelaria area is great during the day, but a dead zone in the evening, with few good dining options.
