Good simple accomodations

Pros: front desk staff
Cons: some of the light switches didn't work
Location: Not glamorous - behind Lowe's and next to the highway.
This is an inexpensive hotel. Not fancy, but functional and a good value for the price. The fornt desk staff was super nice.

Pros: the desk clerk - she was nice
Cons: bed- ugh!
Location: LOL, not the easiest one to find
The bed was the worst I've ever tried to sleep in - pillow too.

Very Old building and the maintentance that had been done was poor quality. Door Key wouldn't open door and had to move rooms. Right next to freeway so very noisy. Staff was unfriendly and vagrants were in the breeze ways.

Dirty underwear in bathroom, trash everywhere
Posted Jan 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
I'm not particularly picky when it comes to hotel stays -- in this instance, we just needed a place to sleep and chose the Howard Johnson because it allowed pets. But our room had clearly only been surface-cleaned for a long time. There was a pair of dirty underwear behind the bathroom door. There were dirty tissues and candy wrappers behind the nightstands, including a half-eaten piece of chocolate that my dog found and almost ate (we caught him just in time). The tissue dispenser was completely empty as well. I mentioned these issues upon checkout and even gave the attendant a list along with my contact info, but I never heard from them. I would definitely not stay in a Howard Johnson again, especially since it was more expensive and much less clean than the Motel 6 and Motel 8 we stayed in at other points along our trip. At least having a mini-fridge and microwave in the room was nice.

Once you close your eyes...

...and lay down on that bed all of your worries go out the window. Holy moly, that bed made the stay worth it. The purpose of this hotel stay was a rest stop before continuing on to our destination. The room we stayed in was average to below average. The tub squeaked with every movement and floor tiles were loose. I wasn't expecting much for the affordable rate, but the bed we had was definitely new...and awesome. Being adjacent to the freeway traffic noise was a little overbearing, but covered up by turning the A/C fan on high. I'll stay there again...as long as I get that same bed. :-)

Nice staff - Great breakfast
Posted Jan 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
We've stayed at this hotel in the past when it was not a Howard Johnson. HoJo has upgraded the breakfast and the beds were new and soft. Rooms were clean but we wanted a non-smoking room and we could tell the room we got used to be a smoking room. Overall good hotel for the value.

Pros: The staff and free breakfast
Cons: Lack of hot water and the noise from the neighbor.
Location: The hotel is easy to see if you are East bound on I84. But when you pull of it becomes a mouse hunt.
It wasn't a bad place to stay for the money I paid. Breakfast was nice. Hotel Staff were good people. housekeeping even removes the tub drain to clean, I liked that
