Great FacilityPosted Feb 12, 2014
Pros: The Staff
Cons: Rooms could be a little cleaner, my bathroom floor needed some attention
Location: If you do not have a car, it is a long walk to anything but the Crab Shack!
I am always treated very well at the Riverside. The staff is exceptional.

To large to take advantage of the benefits.Posted Oct 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
We checked in with and was told that Hotel.Com had not told them about the request I made and that we had a dog. So they changed our room to the furthest away from the lobby which was quite a distance for my wife to walk in the morning in the dark for their free breakfast. We were put their account of our pet which they know we can not leave our dog alone so that for breakfast we have to go one at a time very scary for my wife. We went to sit out on our patio and their were some homeless people using it. Will not stay their again and would advise anyone with a pet to not stay their again. Told Hotel.com to book us closer to the freeway and this hotel is to far from the freeway and in very scary area.

Aging decor, questionable animal controlPosted Sep 27, 2013
Pros: Location is excellent to downtown and Boise State, bed and bedding excellent.
Cons: Do not allow dogs if they cannot control which rooms have them. Room furniture needs to be updated. Need quieter refrigerator and dedicated location.
Location: Direct access from the garden courtyard to the Boise River Walk and greenbelt. The hotel is about a mile walk from the downtown core.
The location of this hotel cannot be beat if access to the River Walk (Greenbelt) is desired. Also, the staff was very friendly at every level encountered. The downside to our stay is related to material condition of our room for this price point of hotel. 1) Upon our arrival there was an extremely heavy disinfectant smell in the room which I now believe was being used to cover previous dog activity, 2) There was no bedstand on one side of the king 3) The refrigerator was next to the foot of the bed blocking safe access along one side, 4) The refrigerator was incredibly loud. When we checked out I discussed the smell of the room and my feeling of the root cause, I was assured there had not been any canine occupants in that portion of the hotel as animals were not allowed in that section. I pointed out this was a surprise as the people occupying the room next to us were blatantly accessing the garden area with their dog from their patio doors during our stay, and their dog barked in the night. We may go back due to the excellent location if I am unable to find a different hotel in the area with good River Walk access, but I will not hesitate to request an inspection of the room prior to accepting it. This is not something I have ever done in my travels but if they will not police their pet owning guests then I will be forced to.

Clean, convenient location close to the Green BeltPosted Sep 24, 2013
Pros: Friendly staff; good value; and proximity to walking/biking by the Boise River
Location: 10 minutes from downtown with its good range of restaurants & bars.
Very warm & friendly staff; tasty breakfast buffet; very clean room and facilities with good value. They appear to be renovating rooms building by building so common areas range from a bit worn to up-to-date. Will gladly stay again when we're back.
