location was good

Posted Jun 20, 2015
Pros: cost was reasonable
Cons: getting the kind of room that is requested
Location: location was close to our children's homes
First night was bad ..... requested a non-smoking room and was given a smoking room ..........complained to the clerk and the next night was moved to a non-smoking room

Noisy

Posted Jun 2, 2015
Located next to busy expressway, I55. Heard every car that passed by. Sounded as though Windows were open. Dated furnishings. Need sprucing up.

Tolerable but disappointing

Posted Jun 1, 2015
Pros: Easy access to freeway.
Cons: Needs a good scrubbing.
Location: Did not stay at hotel for the nearby attractions. Located in older commercial neighborhood.
If you can tolerate a hotel and room that appear old, not well kept, smelled like old cigarettes, and not the cleanest then you would be OK with this hotel. But if you expect a hotel room to be clean and well kept than you will be disappointed. I am in general not the pickiest person in the world but when I spend good money for a hotel room I expect it to be clean and well kept. Couch had a large stain on it and all walls and carpets looked like they could use a good washing or replaced.

OK, But could've been better.

Pros: Decent breakfast items, and an inviting pool/hot tub.
Cons: The maids were great, kind & helpful - but need to improve attitude of other staff members. Needs better ventilation in the hallways.
Location: This hotel is SW of CHI, and depending on traffic was 40-90 minutes downtown. A nice golf course & mini-golf nearby and a great Hotdog place nearby.
An OK place to crash for the night after long days in Chi-town. Hot water was non-existent, so quick, luke-warm showers were the norm. Non-smoking room smelled ok, but there was definitely smoking going on in the hallways - we practically had to run to our room to avoid the smell! But the main problem we had was getting enough towels each day. We told them at check in that there were 4 people in the room, yet each evening we had to trudge all the way down to the front desk to get 2 more sets of towels - we even left notes for the maids, but to no avail. Staff was rude (putout) at times and would rather be playing on their phones then attending to guests at the counter. A variety of quick breakfast items was nice and fresh each morning as we headed out for the day. The pool and hot tub was clean and inviting, but we didn't have time (or attire) to enjoy them. Overall it was a decent hotel, and with a few adjustments could be an enjoyable stay.

Clean room

Posted May 30, 2015
Request to stay in the lower levels. We stayed upstairs in a non smoking room but since we were next to the smoking rooms it smelled like smoke. The staff brought a spray to spray all over. It helped. Very friendly and helpful people. room was very clean.

Located outside downtown Chicago just the right distance for economy, yet an easy ride to the museums in the morning.

Beds comfortable Beats Chicago prices

Posted Apr 15, 2015
It was clean and comfortable. Upon check in, it seemed desk clerk didn't really know what was going on since I booked from Expedia. He didn't collect my cash and the morning staff was ready to let me go until I told them I need to pay. Other than that staff pleasant.

Not that far from Wriggly...

Posted Apr 14, 2015
Pros: Quiet and clean with a nice breakfast.
Cons: Restrictions on children using the computer in the lobby.
Location: It's Chicago...Everything!
My brother and I are Cardinal fans from St. Louis. We drove up I55 and got right off the highway at La Quinta and parked for free. The next morning we drove to Midway Airport where we parked for $12 and purchased a roundtrip train ticket to wriggly Field for only $6 that included a transfer from the orange train to the red train. If the Red Birds could have won it would have been a perfect day. We came back to La Quinta the same way we left and didn't have to drive or park in the downtown traffic as Midway is right off I55 as well. Safe and sound again in the suburbs like home.
