“Expedia - a bad idea”

I reserved a non-smoking room but when I checked in, I was told that they had a room for me but it was smoking! I was not pleased. The hotel desk clerk searched for a non-smoking room for me, but since Expedia did not specify any request other than 2 queen beds, all the non-smoking rooms were occupied. The room was completely smoke-permeated; the housekeeping staff tried to eliminate some of the foul odor but could not completely erradicate it. All of my clothes (even the clean ones) had to be laundered when I returned home as they all smelled of smoke. It was very unpleasant to even be in the room. I will NEVER use Expedia again for booking a hotel stay!!!!

“It was what I expected”

I knew what amenities did and did not come with a Super 8. The staff was courteous. I was disappointed that there was no fresh fruit on the breakfast offerings.

“Hotel good for rural area”

this hotel met out expectations as it was in rural area. Had we wanted the amenities of city type hotel we would have stayed there. this was great for the price paid. we were in area for Lucas Oil dirt track race.

The maid service was good. The bathroom was extremely clean, room was as clean as a maid could get it. The carpet in the room needed to be cleaned and the A/C had a strange smell. Considering this is a small town and not an upscale hotel we were pretty satisfied.

“Stale rooms”

I can't say much - I stayed in a Super 8 in Lamar and it was 5 stars, then needed to stay closer to my son's school and chose the Bolivar location. A point of comparison -- two extreme opposites. Themotel seemed dated and the rooms and bathroom were smelly. Breakfast was okay and it served the purpose for one night - but would never stay a place like that more than one night and only out of necessity.

The hotel was hard to find. I found it around 8 pm. That should have been my first clue. The temperature of the room was 39 degrees as they leave the heat off in all the guest rooms until the guest turns them on. As it was 15 degrees outside, it was very cold inside. The toilet overflowed within five minutes of being there. I then was given another freezing room. The deadbolt on the door didn't lock, but the toilet did, so I decided not to push my luck. They either don't know how to make a bed, or they did not change the sheets on the beds as the sheets were hanging cockeyed below the bedspreads. I didn't tempt fate, but slept on top of the bed in my coat and gloves because it took until after midnight to warm up. The next morning I took a shower and there was someone else's hair on the shower walls. I felt like I needed another shower after leaving there. I don't normally complain about places I stay, but there is no way I would EVER stay at another Super 8.
