Nice hotel, modern, clean and comfy

Posted Oct 7, 2014
Pros: Hotel staffs are attentive and helpful.
Cons: Our room was just on the second floor. In the evenings we could hear people chat from the outdoor sitting area, but for us it was not a problem.
Location: The two towers and Piazza Maggiore are only 15 - 20 minutes by foot. Plenty of restaurants and there is a supermarket near to the hotel.
We stayed at Aemilia Hotel for two nights and we enjoyed it. The location is good and close to the city main attractions.

Great staff, just outside the University district

Posted Sep 28, 2014
Amelia is a friendly, stratight-forward place just outside the university district. The rooms were clean, bed was comfy, there was a nice view from the roof-deck and the breakfasts were ample and varied. What sets the hotel apart from others in it's category is, I think, the friendliness and enthusiasm of the staff. I felt quite genuinely welcomed when I checked-in and front desk staff were consistently helpful and friendly over the few days I stayed in Bologna. Unlike some of the other hotels I stayed at in Italy, staff here seemed happy to be there, and so, consequently, that attitude rubs off on the guests staying there.

Amazing hotel with great views from roof terrace

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Very nice hotel, a bit out of the centre, but very quiet. Roof terrace was a nice inclusion (with a spa and sun loungers), and the room itself was very comfortable. Highly recommend.

Great hotel, easy walking distance of centre

Posted Sep 1, 2014
Enjoyed three nights at Hotel Aemilia, which provides good accommodation for those on a city break or on business. We had a comfortable, spacious room on the 6th floor. The roof terrace and jacuzzi provided a welcome place for relaxation after sightseeing. Breakfast buffets were plentiful, fresh and varied.

A short break to explore an Italian City.

Posted Aug 31, 2014
Pros: The staff were very friendly. Plenty to eat at breakfast. The view from the roof terrace was amazing. The room was clean and comfortable.
Location: A 20 minute walk into Bologna where there were museums, old buildings and shops. A bus tour of the city. Cafes to drink coffee and try local food.
This was our first visit to Italy. We picked Bologna and found the hotel. When we arrived we weren't disappointed. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We checked in and went to our room. What a fantastic view we had over the city. We asked at reception for directions into town and were given a map, the walk was about 15/20 minutes. There was so much to see. We found somewhere to eat and drink the local frizzante,it seemed very busy and popular the food was very good. The next day we went to Modena by train again at reception they were very helpful. That evening we ate at the hotel the food was very good. The next two days we spent exploring Bologna. We tried local cheeses and meats ,ate pizza, ice cream and sampled tortellini and ragu. We visited the museum and learnt about the history of the city.

Great hotel!

Posted Aug 24, 2014
Pros: Lovely decor, bright breakfast room, close enough to town centre.
Location: Near to university district which is one side of the main city. Just outside inner ring road. Plenty of people coming and going. 15 mins from centre.
I arrived in Bologna, at the hotel, eventually, despite a massive rain storm and a failed GPS, slightly frazzled. The staff were welcoming, calming and friendly and I felt at ease very soon. The hotel is pretty new and still shiny. Everything you'd expect from a new 4 star hotel and possibly a bit more. I was travelling alone and was too timid to try the hot tub on the roof deck but I did go for a wander there and it offered amazing views of the city sky line. I had arrived from Tuscany after an unexpectedly long drive, so maybe Bologna was on the back foot, but I wasn't that keen on the city. It gradually grew on me, mainly thanks to a great dinner (aperitivo) at a bar (Lab16) on Via Zamboni. Travelling alone, the colonnades and the loitering men made for a rather iffy atmosphere, but it was a city wide issue, nothing to do with the hotel specifically. Exhausted after furiously exploring Florence for 2 days, the hotel provided the refuge I needed to unwind in order to give the city a fair chance to impress! Near the hotel is the city university (oldest in the world) and I went to a few of the departments that have little museums or exhibits (e.g. the physics department that has all Marconi's old equipment (telephony) and some of Volta's (inventor of the battery) and the nearby botanical gardens, small but lovely. This was refreshingly pleasant. Breakfast was amazing! A wide range of hot and cold items, freshly baked pastries, salads, cereals, fried breakfast etc.

Central Bologna near all important historic site.

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: The personnel was very nice.
Location: Perfect location.
Great hotel. However August is not a good month to visit the region. The hotel had some renovations going on. The gym room was closed because of this. Some trattorias were closed for the Holiday season.

Great hotel for city stay

Posted Aug 2, 2014
The hotel from arriving to leaving was very good, the staff through out the hotel were very helpful, polite and happy, even the maids cleaning our rooms always smiled and said good morning. The hotel was very clean, our room was always cleaned by the time we came back from breakfast. The food was good and we really enjoyed our stay.
