Here's an improved version: This was an excellent place to stay. The people were great and very friendly. My husband had an accident in the hotel, and the staff were extremely supportive and helpful. I'm grateful for their assistance during that situation. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel.

We really enjoyed our two night stay at Hotel Metropolitan. The location is great - easily walkable from the train station, close to the centre of Bologna, and off a quiet side street. Room was very clean and spacious - huge bed plus kids bunk beds, sofa, desk, table and chairs. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast - excellent service from the staff and loads of food options (especially little cakes and biscuits!). Only minor complaint is that we could have done with some crockery in the room - we only had two (very small) cups even though there were four of us, and no glasses at all - we had to go and ask downstairs at the bar if we could borrow some. Would recommend this as a great family hotel for a couple of nights stay in lovely Bologna.

Hotel great with some improvements to make better
The hotel was right in the centre off one of the medieval streets. I stayed at the weekend and the hotel was in the ideal location! The reception staff were very welcoming and directed me towards the best places to visit in Bologna. The hotel has excellent services with a bar on site and a rooftop. My only negative comments would be around the curtains; it would be great to have had blackout curtains as at night the room let in a lot of light. Additionally, due to the building and how it is built the room suffered from a lot of noise from above which did wake me up.

Very comfortable hotel within easy walking distance of major attractions and highlights in Bologna. Large comfortable room, marvelous breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Could not have been a better experience. For us, a bit of a splurge, but definitely worth it

Fantastic central hotel. We stayed in one of the apartments two streets away. It was lovely and quiet but we also benefitted by being able to use the hotel rooftop & bar! All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. One of the barman in particular was so lovely and spent ages recommending different amari for my husband to try! We will definitely be staying here again!

Perfect hotel for our budget, staff wrre very friendly and helpful, location was great and walking distance to everywhere in Bologna and the rooftop terrace was an added bonus! Breakfast was also very good and the breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful too. Would highly recommend and would return if we're ever in Bologna again.
