Nice hotel.

It was a nice experience overall. I was somewhat disappointed by two facts. First one: I stayed there a total of 7 nights in two rounds 4 nights one week and after the weekend 3 nights. I wanted to shorten my first stay to 3 nights and told them 48 hours in advance. They told me it was too short a notice and made me pay for the 4th night even if I checked out the morning before. So make sure you don't have to modify your reservation! Second stay: I arrived from Venice after the weekend at 8AM. Left my suitcase at the hotel to check in later. Since I was there for breakfast. I wanted to have something to eat and I was charged extra for it. Now considering that I have previously paid for 1 extra day which i did not use, plus on both stays I chose their hotel... a breakfast could have been a courtesy! It is not the amount but the principle! :-)

An excellent place with a very nice breakfast in the morning and with very friendly people. Only on T-days (weekends) in December one needs to walk a bit more because the busses are not going through the center.

Cool paradise!

Pros: Roof-top skylight was cool!
Location: The town is quite walkable and the hotel is convenient from the Station & town centre. Close to the shopping, churches & towers.
A very fresh & unique experience. Personalised service and quirky but still very friendly & helpful

Good location
Posted Jan 12, 2012
I stayed in a single room on the first floor. Although there was some level of noise from the reception area, the room was generally peaceful. The location was good, being relatively central to shops, parks, tourist spots etc, although as single female traveller I did find it quite unnerving to leave the main area and walk along the side street to the hotel when it was dark. (having said that, I never encountered any trouble.). It took me twenty minutes to walk from the train station with a suitcase (I got a taxi back which cost €10 at 5:30am). My only complaint with the hotel was that the tiled bathroom floor didn't appear to be cleaned during my 4 night stay - some 'marks' from the loo brush remained on the floor throughout my stay! Other than that, the room was clean and fresh towels every day. There is a supermarket just at the end of the road which was handy for snacks etc. The hotel minibar prices are extortionate when the same products are stocked in the supermarket at a quarter of the price!

Heading for the Train or Airport
Posted Jan 3, 2012 on Hotels.com
Hotel Paradise has a very friendly helpful and caring staff, which is one of its great qualities. Our room and bathroom were tiny for 2 people, OK for one night before heading to the airport, but probably not for a longer stay. The breakfast room was also small, although we realized later that we could have sat in the lobby area instead. All was spotlessly clean; a little kitschy in decor. You can walk to Hotel Paradise from the train, but beware that the sign indicating their street is obscured when coming from that direction. We walked quite a bit farther than was necessary as we missed the street sign. For the price I recommend it especially if you have a full agenda outside the hotel.

Quirky and lovely!

Very clean room. Very helpful and friendly reception - people we really liked. A brilliant range for a continental breakfast, I was quite surprised. Boiled eggs, fruit, tea/coffee/hot chocolate, croissants, danish pastries etc. Hotel very central in Bologna: 10 or 15 mins walk to the train station, 10 mins walk or maybe less to the Piazza Maggiore and Nettune (excuse sp if wrong). Some of the specific ratings I have given would be 4.5 if possible, but I rounded up to 5s because this hotel was that extra bit charming and cute: little proverbs, rolled up like fortunes from fortune cookies at breakfast. Fridge not very cold was the only minor complaint, but we didn't even ask them to fix this so perhaps they would have fixed it instantly if asked.

Excellent position in historic heart; excellent (when it was much needed) air conditioning; excellent value.
