Fantastic!

Posted Aug 9, 2014
The hotel is in a lovely old building very close to all the main attractions, you can walk to main square Piazza Maggiore in less than 10 mins. The train station is also 5-10 mins walk. We had a drink on the hotel terrace next to the park one evening, which was a lovely setting, and there are cafes/bars/restaurants as soon as you step outside the hotel, but not to the point of being overwhelmed with them. The hotel restaurant is also highly recommended, however we didn't have long enough to try it. The rooms are spacious, clean and have incorporated the traditional Italian decor with modern twist. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely come back

Excellent Staff

Great experience with the hotel staff on several occasions; check in process, escorted to room, and in the lounge. Professional, courteous, and very customer centric. Room was simple but modern; very nice.

Excellent hotel close to old town

Posted Jul 24, 2014
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Rooms could be a bit larger (but, hey, it's Europe).
Modern but minimalist room with perfect bed and good bathroom. The hotel practices a Euro-modern design sensibility, but it's combined with preserved parts of the old building. The results can make rooms feel both a bit sparse and warm at the same time. Our room had a ceiling and walls with beautiful frescoes. The lobby and public spaces are beautiful. Staff is young, smart, English-speaking, professional and aim to please. The hotel is ideally located about 9 blocks north of Piazza Maggiore, the heart of the old city, and 5 blocks east of MAMBO, the modern art museum with its fabulous Giorgi Morandi collection. Bologna can be a noisy city but rooms here are well isolated and the hotel itself is in a quieter part of town bordering a major park. It's a tough place to find without a great map (and GPS would be essential for many drivers), but this is also the best hotel within easy walking distance of the train station. We had a car, and although parking is pricey at about 30 euros a day, the hotel's private parking "garden" is gracious and accessible. The woman who checked us in not only helped handle our baggage, but parked the car for us, then refused a tip. The star of the experience is breakfast, which is served in the hotel's elegant Michelin-rated restaurant. It is fantastico! There are a couple of five-star hotels a bit closer to the center of the city, but they do not provide a better overall experience.

Great location

A lovely hotel in a great location. We took the opportunity to eat in the michelin starred restaurant while we were there. The restaurant was very large and the tables spread far apart which added to the very formal atmosphere.Good food but perhaps a little too formal for our taste.

Excellent find in Bologna city

Posted Jun 24, 2014
The hotel is set on a main street of Bologna within walking distance of the railway station, and other attractions in the city area. It overlooks a lovely park and has a fresh appeal within. Rooms are generous size and staff friendly and helpful, providing a map and advice on restaurants, shops and sightseeing.Breakfast is set in an historical dining room which is now also a restaurant, and the food is delicious and highly recommended. A free drink on the terrace was offered to guests on their first night and this introduced us to a nice relaxed place for a drink and light meal. Our room had a painted ceiling and looked out to the park which was very relaxing after a big day out.'

lacks details

There was no dresser to put your clothes into. The shower needed a lot of work. There was no view. And very little light. But the bed was comfortable.

Great Location

Posted Jun 4, 2014
Pros: The accessibility, location and nice room, great value. Highly recommend this hotel again.
Cons: Just the breakfast, showers are a bit small.
Location: Everything near by, shopping, train and bus.
I loved this hotel in Bologna, it was centrally located, great service, room was clean , comfortable and nice amenities. Cost was a good value. Near train and bus station. Staff attentive. The only thing they need to work on is the breakfast, though there was a nice presentation, I thought the it was a bit pricey for what it was , the eggs were tasteless and the quality of the pastries for italy were not that good.
