One night stayPosted Nov 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
Nothing spectacular about this hotel. We just stayed for one night while passing through Bologna. Would not stay there again. They did have a nice breakfast in the morning.

Noisy run down hotelPosted Oct 6, 2013
The Zanhotel Europa was a disappointment given its on-line review rating, which we found to be inaccurate. The furniture and fixtures in the hotel are run down and need of refurbishment. The walls in the hotel are paper thin which means you hear everything going on the next room, and the crying baby in the room across the hall could be easily heard. In addition, the rooms smelled musty and we could not get the WiFi to work in our room or in the lobby as it continued to lock-up or simply not allow access. We had pre-payed for two days, but decided to leave after only one night. Over all, an extremely disappointing experience.

good hotel for business maybe not touristsPosted Oct 1, 2013
the hotel was extremely close to the central station but a 20 min walk to the city centro. although there are buses. the room was nice and extremely clean but the bed and pillows were awful. the pillows were very hard and the bed was full of springs. I didnt get a good night sleep once. there wasnt a nice arm chair to sit in and the tv only had one channel in english. on the plus side. it was close for our train trips out of town on a major bus route and had a great breakfast. the sheets were changed every day and the room was spotless and quiet. if they had a good mattress it would have been almost perfect.

Location: Short walk to Train and city center.
Rooms Clean, tidy and quiet. Aircon rooms. Good location to train and short walk to city and places to eat. Found some staff not very friendly, but still managed to help with requests. Breakfast was included and was great. Internet only free for one hour a day.

Indiferent staffPosted Jun 16, 2013
Hotel was nice with a nice retro touch. The breakfast was good. The staff from the Reception looked always busy doing something else then taking care of the guests. When we checked in the gentleman working in the Reception was so busy at the computer he didn't even bother to greet us and we were the only ones in front of him. Overall for the price payed was ok. The location is good, close to the train station.

Great locationPosted Jun 9, 2013
The hotel was generally good and in a convenient location for the station and city of bologna (short walk for both) and with a good buffet breakfast. The rooms were fraying round the edges a bit... The staff were nothing special.

Excellent hotelPosted Apr 15, 2013
Pros: This is a very well maintained, comfortable hotel with spacious rooms and bathrooms, well located to the train station and the centre of the city.
Location: Excellent location
We enjoyed our stay at the Europa, an old style elegant hotel. Very well located to the train station and an easy walk to the centre of the city. The room was spacious and well appointed. Great bed and bedding and the bathroom unusually large. The breakfast room is lovey with a full range of foods. For the most part the staff were pleasant, but not overly helpful. They responded to requests, but didn't offer any information about the wi-fi connection, city maps or tours, etc., unless asked. The wi-fi arrangement is very odd. You receive a password for 1 hour per person for each 24 hours.
